Some bunny loves you...

St. Patrick's Day is over and I only have 2 weeks to get my Easter cards done. The perfect inspiration was over at Less Is More. They are having a challenge using frames.

I took the saying "somebunny loves you" and made a frame with it. Thank God for clear stamps! I added an image from StampinUp's Everybunny set that I got free after hosting a party. The bow is made from glitter paper colored with copic markers. I am not sure how well the glitter shows up in the photo.

Expect more Easter cards over the next few weeks,

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I got very behind this year with my St. Patrick's Day cards and had to make 15 in one day. So I cranked out these guys. I love this blueprint for cards. I suppose I could do Easter with a collage of eggs!

Anyway- I took me about an hour to make 15 of these. So I was able to get them in the mail in a timely fashion.

Hope all of you are having a lucky day!

Lucky Friends

I guess you can see I have been back to work, no more yay-boo days. Today was my day off for the week and I was madly working on finishing my St. Patty's cards. They are now all done and addressed and stamp, ready to send. Does anyone know if the post office still delivers on Saturday? I would like my cards to arrive before the holiday.

Here is one of the last St. Patty's card I made, for a special friend. it uses a variety of shamrock stamps and green inks. The saying was from one of those dollar stamps and I tend to use it every year. This year I jazzed it up with a die cut from Papertreyink. I entering this in the green challenge at Just Add Ink.

Hope all of you have a lucky day!

Yay-boo bunny

I have been so enjoying my yay-boo days. I have spent lots of long overdue time in my studio. I have been waiting for the boo and today, I got a call from work- do you want Monday off? I replied- "I gotta go back to work sometime!" So.... as much as a really long weekend is appealing, I can't use up all my vacation on yay-boo days. Boo-hoo. :( Back to work on Monday.

There is a challenge over at CASology with bunnies as the theme. I immediately knew what I was going to do. I love these little bunnies from a very old Hero Arts set- Sending Happy Thoughts. I don't think HA even makes it anymore. Add the super saying from Amuse, before they became a home party business. This is definitely a CAS card. I had to add something so I dry embossed a frame around the bunnies. It is hard to see in the picture.

This card is inspired by a card I made several years ago.

I can really see my growth as a stamper. I think I had just gotten my Cuttlebug and I used it on everything I made.

Well.... today I am actually leaving my studio and am venturing out into our spring snowstorm to have lunch with my niece.

Take care all.

Simple Sentiment

As many of you know, I follow a blog called Simplicity ( see it in my blog favs list). Susan has a wonderful clean and simple style. Something I am always trying to emulate.  This weeks One Layer Wednesday challenge was to make a sentiment the main focus of the card, with only one layer. I laid awake last night and thought I had a brilliant idea, but when I went to make it I realized it was full of layers, albeit all white, but a few layers. Back to the stamping board.

Then I thought- "come on girlfriend- keep it simple"! So out came a saying set from My Favorite Things that I rarely use. (just because the sentiments are meant to be the main focus.) Vertical Greetings II. Add a random heart to highlight the saying and their you have it. sigh.... so much time spent on a simple card....

Now here is another interpretation of this card, with lots of layers and colors. This card is more me.
What do you think? CAS or DAC (dirty and complicated!)?

Enjoying my Yay-boo day!

Happy Creating!!

Yay-boo

Yay-boo is a term used quite a bit in my new job. The charge nurse will come up and say I have a yay-boo for you. I could never quite understand what she meant until I had my own yeah-boo moment. Yesterday the coordinator asked me if I wanted Wed. off. I said yeah, I want off, I was off Thursday and it would give me two whole days off. YAY!!! ....until she came back and said- "Sue- you already have Weds. off not Thursday." ...BOO!!

So.... There I am, off today, enjoying some long over due studio time and the phone rings- it is work... asking do I want Thursday off- what?!! Sure I want Thursday off- YAY!!! Now, I am just waiting for the boo.

I made this card as an unconventional St. Patrick's Day card. I used one of my favorite Paper Smooches sets- Reflections and a new set from  Wplus9- Lovebirds

I think this is a fun card and I like the idea of creating a stencil with eclipse masking paper. You will see some more cards like this one.

I am entering this in the Challenge at Simon Says Stamp. I mean the challenge is "A Bit O' Green"! How couldn't I? Green is my favorite color! Have I told you that before? Green is my favorite color?!!
Well- it is.

Since I am always trying to embrace my inner clean and simple I am entering this in the CAS challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

See you all again soon!

more green cards

More  St. Patrick's Day cards. This one I used a technique that Jennifer Maguire showed during the Clean and Simple Card Making 2. It is called gradient stamping, where you layer your ink colors so they blend from light to dark.  The class is over, but you can still sign up and enjoy all the videos and instructions.

Stay tune for more lucky green cards!
