Ground control to Major Cliff

Happy Memorial day everyone! Hope you are enjoying the holiday with friends and or family. Around here Memorial Day is the start of the summer season and everyone heads down the shore. If you are hanging at home you are probably watching a parade to honor our Vets.

Today's card in a round about way honors those vets also. Many of the astronauts are in some section of the military. Whe I was visiting my brother in Bethany Beach, we spent the day at NASA at Wallops Island. It was an amazing place! They have more rocket launches from Wallop's Island than anywhere in the country.

This is the second week for our sketch challenge at Inky Paws. It is fun sketch, but I notice participation is a bit slow moving. Hopefully you all will find time this week to play along.

My card features one of my favorite Newton sets: Cosmic Newton. I also used the starfield stencil. Newton has just taking off from Wallop's Island and is headed into space to save Major Tom or what I really mean is my brother Cliff!!!

Head on over to Inky Paws and join in our new sketchchallenge. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is this Friday, May 31, 2019 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

Cake and eat it too!

Happy Monday everyone. I just got back from a week at the beach. I lucked out and it did not rain at all. Needless to say I am a bit burnt- no, I am a lot burnt.

It's a new week and Inky Paws is having a sketch challenge this week. Unlike me, Newton's cake came out perfect and is not burnt.

My card is a very literal interpretation of the sketch and I used "Newton loves cake" from Newton's Nook. This CAS card with it's bright colors and glittery frosting makes me happy.

Just chillin'

This card has me so excited, because it reminds me I am heading to the beach right after work today! Yay!! While it is still a bit to cool to spend anytime in the ocean or pool, I know that hot sunny summer days are just around the corner.
My card was inspired by the ongoing color challenge over at Inky Paws. The challenge is to use  yellow, teal, green and white in your creations. I used a variety of Newton's Nook product to make my card today. I love to mix and match my stamp sets, dies and stencils.

Sandi's birthday

My sister-in-law Sandi is one of my best friends and is the sister I don't have. She loves dogs, whereas I am a cat person. I buy dog stamps with her cards in mind. She just celebrated her birthday last week and the new stamp set "pawsome birthday" by Newton's Nook was just the ticket for her birthday card this year.

Inky Paws is having a favorite color challenge of mine- yellow, teal, green and white. You can't get anymore springy than that!!

I used my new go to die from Newton's Nook called "framed squares". When you have good product creating something good is a no-brainer.  I will admit it was nice to be able to go back to my copic markers to color with after the last challenge of using colored pencils!!

Monster rock

Happy May Day everyone!! Yay!! I think we can finally put winter behind us and enjoy spring and the summer to come. May means my anniversary to the big guy- 32 years this year! He loves music and I love green! So I had to put them together for an anniversary card.

That's why I was so happy the color this month at The Rainbow Card Challenge is green! The most beautiful color in the world.

I have a very cute little set of monsters called Rock Monster from Mama Elephant for Hampton Arts.

I grabbed a bunch of music related stamps and went to town.

I even stamped the inside of the card, something I rarely do. I am usually scrambling to stamp a sentiment at the last minute. hey that's a good question. How many of you plan the inside of your card when you are creating it? Or are you like me- last minute Nellie.

Now for this month's musical inspiration- Simon and Garfunkle's Leaves that are Green.

Remember- the beauty of the monochromatic card is you can easily switch up the colors. this card can easily be done in any color of the rainbow.

Join us at The Rainbow Card Challenge for this best color ever challenge of green!! You have the month of May to create a gorgeous green cards!!
