Happy Little Stampers August Sketch Challenge

Oh goodness!! My first Christmas card !! I never start this early. I am definitely a last minute girl when it comes to my holiday cards. December 1, 1 am sitting down in my studio to make around 100 cards.

When I saw the sketch challenge this month at Happy Little Stampers I just thought Christmas and this is what I came up with (after digging around to find my Christmas stamps!).  You did notice I turned the sketch upside down didn't you?

I used this set from Lawn Fawn, a favorite from last year. The embossing folder was extremely popular. Every time I tried to order it, it was out of stock. Much to my amazement I found it at the Heirloom Rubberstamp Convention

Please join in the fun over at Happy Little Stampers and see what the rest of the DT came up with!

Mid Challenge reminder for the Male Room

Hi all! I am pooping in with a reminder to join the fun over at the Male Room. Challenge #15 is all about "spots and stripes".

I had so much fun with this challenge that I made several cards. See this post for my other entries.

Thank you cards can be tough for guys.  I mean do men really expect thank you cards? is it a "girly" thing.  What are your thoughts?

I suppose there are times when you need to send a thank you card to a guy. I always send the docs I work with thank yous for my Christmas gift.

This graphic black and white card card is perfect for a guy. But what do you think of this interpretation of the same card?

Does this one work for a guy or is it more feminine? May be it straddles the fence- male and female.

Anyway, whatever you think, be sure to join in the fun at the Male Room!!

The Male Room Challenge- Spots and Stripes

This week the challenge at the Male Room is "spots and stripes". Oh that leaves quite a bit of interpretation doesn't it?

I grabbed this set from Mama Elephant and messed around a lot before I came up with this card. I had such fun putting this scene together that the ideas really starting flying around.

I decided to try a "land, sea, air" theme.

AAA cards is having an interesting challenge that my "nauti-cool" card fits. They are looking for "waterworld and dies"

What do you think? It works huh?

My DH George gave me the highest complement on this trio of cards. he said, "I would buy these if I saw them."

I can't wait to see how all of you approach this awesome challenge at the Male Room!

The Male Room Challenge

What a fun challenge over at the Male Room this week! Song titles! Goodness it can be as complicated or as simple as my card.

I love this "surfer dude" from Art Impressions and usually use him at least a few times a year. I spiffed him up with patriotic garb and he is ready to belt out "Surfin' USA"!

So start humming your favorite song title and play along at the Male Room this week!

My card today features that ever popular set from My Favorite Things- "you make my tail wag" and a fun set from Julie Ebersole for Ellen Hutson- "wish big". I embellished the balloons with some doodling.

I made the same card for my DH, but made it as a 4th of July card.

House of Cards July Challenge: Fruit and Color

Welcome to the next semester at the House of Cards!! We have an awesome new look and a great DT. A shout out to all our returning members and our newbies!!

The challenge this month is a color/fruit challenge.

Those colors, don't they just say summer?!!? I love them! I used some really old Hero Arts stamps.
They don't have the titles on them so I am sorry you are on your own. But with all the cupcake stamps out there, this one remains my favorite!

How about that glittery icing. Sometimes you need a real punch of glitter! so instead of using my microfine glitter, I went right for an old bottle of Stickles!

Check out what the rest of the House of Cards Group #1 has to offer.

Please join us and play along with this fun, sweet and summery challenge!!
