A calming color challenge

Good morning everyone! Happy Monday!! Hope all of you are staying healthy. Are you still being creative? We have a new challenge at Inky Paws to help jump start your creativity. A very soothing color challenge. You can kinda slide into the challenge.

We are asking you to use pink, mint, green, white and black in your creations.

My card today uses the following awesome stuff from Newton's Nook. I used the Bokeh stencil for my fun back drop. I took "Hop into Spring" and cut the bunny away from the watering can. Next I added the "Easter Lily" into the watering can. This is how I make may stamp sets more versatile. I am alaways looking for ways to mix up my sets. That is one of the reasons I picked Elle Kay as my pick for the week, because she does the same thing. Great minds...... Lastly I took the sentiment from "Dainty Daisies" set.

Please continue to stay safe, healthy, and enjoy the time at home crafting and join our color challenge at Inky Paws! You have two weeks to play with our color challenge at Inky Paws! We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is this Friday, May 1, 2020 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

Party like you mean it

Party like you mean it, that's what I mean. Who's ready for a party? I sure could use one! We were supposed to have a big party for my SIL next week, but Covid put the cabosh on that. Things seem to be getting slightly better here in Pennsylvania, maybe our summer season will start on Memorial Day. Maybe not full on, but kinda.

Anyway, are you ready for another challenge at  Cardz 4 Galz? This will be a fun one. A two color challenge using :

PINK and BLACK

This one goes out to all those classy crafters!

My card uses one of my "go-to" all occasion stamp set- "Simply Celebrate" by Lawn Fawn. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp "Birthday Palooza". A little washi tape to jazz it up and this CAS card is complete. You could easily switch the colors on this one to make a black and red card, or black and gold, whatever you want.

Come and join us at Cardz 4 Galz and play along with our black and pink challenge. You have two weeks to enter the fun!

a wee birdie......

Happy Today everyone. really though, today is Monday for those who like me have no idea anymore what day of the week it is. Even though I am still working some how the says of the week have all lost meaning. Are you all feeling that?

I found this on FB and it really sums up how many of us feel.

Thisday means that we are in our second week of our birthday challenge at Inky Paws . Not a huge showing yet. Come on folks, its a birthday challenge, we all need birthday cards.

My card today features a fun little set from Newton's Nook called Newton's Birthday Flutter and cloud stencil also from Newton's Nook. I don't usually do anything special for the inside of my cards, but I just had to for this card.

It just makes me laugh, something we all need to do more of.

Please continue to stay safe, healthy, and enjoy the time at home crafting and join our birthday  challenge at Inky Paws! You have one more week to play with our birthday challenge at Inky Paws! Some bunny

This is my first time hosting the challenge at CAS on Friday At the time I chose the theme, there was no covid 19 spreading it's ugly droplets across the world and I clearly had no idea when Easter was!

Often you see a generic "critter" or "animal" theme for challenges. I took it one step further and narrowed it down to a specific critter. So the new challenge at CAS on Friday  is:

Bunnies

I have a love/hate relationship with these cute soft and cuddly critters. My back yard is a home to about a gazillion bunnies. Makes it hard to grow a garden of any kind. But when you see the babies hopping across the yard, you just have to smile.

Today's card is a super clean, CAS card. Not sure who and where the stamps came from, I have had them for forever.
Even though Easter is a week gone, one can always use a cute bunny card. This will be going to my husband for a "just because" card. everyone can use one of those. Especially now with all the social distancing, self quarantines and social isolation. Maybe you know someone who would be cheered up by receiving a cuddly bunny card.

While you are social distancing- Head over to CAS on Friday  and join your virtual friends to showcase a cute cuddly bunny card. You have two weeks to play along. Please make sure your card is CAS (see the rules if you are not sure) or you will not be considered for the top prize or a top three spot.

Our winner will be the guest designer for the next challenge at CAS on Friday!!

Bring on the sparkle!

Happy hump day! I am hoping we are on the down swing of the hump for covid. Today is a new challenge at Christmas 24. This one really appealed to me. I like glittery and bright cards.

And today's challenge is:

Gotta love the sparkle! My card is totally about the sparkle. From the background to the sparkly snowflakes to the sparkle sentiment. It is sparkle in overdrive!

The sentiment comes from this fun Honeybee set.  I added some plain white nuevo drops for some contrast and this sparkly card was completed.

You have two weeks to make it sparkle at at Christmas 24

Wine a lot or wine a little

Just another day in quarantine and social distancing. It's crazy but I am getting used to this, although I really could go for a Rita's chocolate ice cream cone.

Today is also the start of a new challenge at Inky Paws! We had a huge response to our last challenge and I bet this one will be just as big if not bigger. The theme this week is birthdays!

This will be a fun one, because who doesn't need a birthday card in their stash? My card today is for my SIL birthday. She and my brother are oenophiles- they love their wine, just like Newton here!

My card today uses Newton Nook's "wine a little", "Newton loves cake" "cocktail mixer die set", and "bubbly stencil".  I love to mix up my stamp sets, like I did with Newton holding the bottle of bubbly.

Please continue to stay safe, healthy,  and enjoy the time at home crafting. Please join our birthday  challenge at Inky Paws! You have two weeks to play with our sketch challenge at Inky Paws! We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is this Friday, April 24, 2020 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

let's go fly a kite!

Happy Thursday! Are you even aware of the day? A coworker asked her daughter last week what day it was and she replied- "does it matter mom? It's just day." I thought that was pretty funny. Cause really does it matter what day of the week it is?

Anyway, it is Thursday and it is time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz. The theme this challenge is:

USE A KITE

I had to dig through my stamps to find a kite. Was beginning to get a bit worried when I came across this Honey Bee set- "oh my whiskers".  I loved hanging the wee kitten from the kite string.

The theme reminded me of a song from Mary Poppins. Take a listen and let the song inspire you.

Come and join us at Cardz 4 Galz and play along with our kite challenge. You have two weeks to enter the fun!

Springtime

Happy Monday! Another week in self isolation and social distancing. I hope you all are faring well. My husband asked me what is the first thing I want to do when this whole thing is over. Without hesitation I said I wanted to go out to dinner. All I do is cook. I want some one to wait on me,clear and wash my dishes.

Anyway enough ranting, I actually do love to cook. 😀 Today is the second week for our fun sketch challenge at Inky Paws.

My card today uses a new stamp set from Newton's Nook- "Easter Lily".  I used traditional Easter Lily colors, that lovely pale green-white color.

Happy Bird-day!

If it is Friday, it must be a CAS kinda day! Today starts a new challenge at CAS on Friday! The theme for this week's challenge is:

Black, White and One Color

When I placed my card in the CASon Friday blog, I noticed I went in a completely different direction than my team mates. That is because this CAS gal has the tendency to over think these challenges.

I went for a predominantly black and green with a bit of white thrown in. One of my favorite bird sets (and I own quite a few) is the "mod birds" from My Favorite Things. I stamped and embossed them in white and colored them with Sakura gel pens. I haven't used gel pens in years and years, but recently bought them to use with my Zentangle art. They work perfect on dark paper, bright and vibrant. Once the ink was dry, I shaded with a bit of copic marker. I loved this new to me technique.

While you are social distancing- Head over to CAS on Friday  and join your virtual friends to play along with our black, white, and one color challenge. You have two weeks to play along. Please make sure your card is CAS (see the rules if you are not sure) or you will not be considered for the top prize or a top three spot.

Our winner will be the guest designer for the next challenge at CAS on Friday!!

Sympathy for the world

Happy April! I usually come up with a good fool's joke, but no one really feels like joking now. I think we all just want the world to return to normal. But what will our new normal look like? I am a hugger, I shake hands to determine someone's merit during a job interview. Will I be able to return to that? Or will we always maintain a certain distance socially as well as emotionally?

When I made this card, the world hadn't gone topsy-turvey. Posting it now is like sending a sympathy card for all of us. We all have suffered some kind of loss with this madness. A loss as even as simple as not being able to hug some one in need.

Today is a new challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. The color this month is tiffany. That lovely soothing blue-green, aqua type color. It s a peaceful color, perfect for a sympathy card.

My very clean and simple card uses the "mum flower frame" from Simon Says Stamp. I added the banner sentiment and a few Neuvo Drops and this card was complete.

I hope this month's music inspiration has you chuckling like I was. There are really no songs with "tiffany" in the title, but I did come across this one. It's all about Tiffany!

You have all month to play along with our tiffany color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge.

Christmas sparrow

Happy April everyone! It's April 1, time for a new challenge at Christmas 24. So far, I have six Christmas cards made. I will be sitting pretty when the holidays roll around. I hope you are all are playing along, because you will be sitting pretty too.

Today's challenge is a sketch challenge. I love this sketch, it has a very CAS look, that makes me happy.

I used a new stamp set that I got to use last Christmas, but never got around to it. Do you all have that issue. I buy new Christmas stamp sets each year and end up using older sets!! I am always about a year behind with them. LOL!!!

Today I used "Winter Sparrow" by Wplus9. I am a sucker for a bird stamp. What is that saying from the TV show Portlandia- "put a bird on it".
