Tangle Tuesday

Welcome to Tangle Tuesday. Today i am tangling one of my favorite things. A dove/bird as a string.

 

 

I chose colors on the cooler end of the rainbow.

I tangled first, then added a gold watercolor shimmer, before adding the color.

I am a card maker as well as a tangler and every year I send handmade cards out with a dove. I decided to use the same string to create a Christmas dove.

This dove string has endless possibilities.

 

Harvest haul

The summer is winding down and despite the continued heat and lack of rain, fall is peeping out. Schools are starting and the stores are displaying Halloween stuff. What a great summer I had. The first entire summer off in 42 years!! 

With all this in mind, Inky Paws is having a "Fall" theme challenge. We are gently leading you into the big holiday season- Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.

Today's card features a few new products from Newton's Nook -  "Harvest Haul" and the "Autumn" paper pack. I used a base of kraft paper because it just feel so fall like.

 

 Today's musical inspiration is about  what else- trucks!! Gotta love Brad!

Fragment Friday among friends.

Welcome to Fragment Friday! I am excited to have a very good friend of mine, whom I met during my Zentangle certification join me. Patty Virginia will be doing her take on a fragment each week along with me. It's fun and inspiring to see how others interpret a fragment. Patty and I are hoping that others will join in and share their fragment studies.

Tangle Tuesday

 There are good folk in the world. A few weeks back, I fell, smashed up my face and broke my nose, along with some damage to knees and wrists. I made a comment in passing on my Zentangle FB groups. I received a PM from a woman who owns a stencil company called Arcadia Laser Creations telling me she read my post and want to send me a free stencil of my choice to help me during my recovery. I picked out a labyrinth stencil and she sent me a set of three plus a large labyrinth stencil. This is one of the smaller stencils. I used a technique from a class with Mindy Shapiro. Now I am ready to tackle the big stencil!

Cacti

Happy Monday! This summer has certainly flown by. Just two more weeks and we start the down the path of fall and winter. What a great summer I had! Lots of crafting drawing and time at the beach with family!

Today starts a new sketch challenge at Inky Paws! Pull out those oval dies and get to it folks!!

Today's card uses another new set from Newton's Nook- "Cultivated Cacti".  

Today's music inspiration is quite a bit off the beaten path. "Cactus" originally done by the Pixies, (no relationship to my Pixie!) but this is the cover by the great David Bowie.

Fragment Friday

Yeah!! It's Fragment Friday!! Today's fragment study uses A4. I did this study on kraft paper. It is reminiscent of a favored artist Rebecca Blair.

Tangle Tuesday with Icantoo and Flux

Hey there, it's Tangle Tuesday! Today's tile is from the "Lunchtime " series with Annie Reiser. I didn't get my proportions quite right , so I change the tile up a bit.  

It got messy making this tile!

Spread a little of aloha

 

Happy Monday! Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws. This is the card that almost wasn't. Last Sunday, I took a nasty spill in my studio. I smashed up my face, knees, hands, and broke my nose. The bruising was so bad that I thought it would last forever,  but I am looking better every day. I thankful that I didn't break any teeth or injure my eyes. 

I wasn't sure I would feel well enough to be creative, but sitting at my desk and being creative was the best medicine!

Turned on its head, my CAS card with lots of beautiful white space features Newton's Nook's "Aloha Newton" and the "Tropical Leaves" stencil.

Today's musical inspiration is just asking you to spread a little aloha around the world!

Fragment Friday

Welcome to Fragment Friday. Today's fragment is one I created. I have noticed a few tiles that feature coffering. when I was done the base drawing, I saw how it could be coffered. 

 

Looking forward to experimenting more with this fragment.

After a pretty nasty fall, where I smashed my face up and broke my nose, I have been gently tangling, because the fine lines are stressful on my eyes. This study of crazy huggins was done while at the beach. In order, each tile was inspired by Melinda Barlow You Tube.Lesson #149, Sharonxww You Tube, Sharonxww You Tube, and Eni Oken .

Tangle Tuesday

 Tangle Tuesday had to take on a beach theme, since that is where I am spending my time. This tangle is from last summer. Angie Gittles. Angie hosts "season tangles" quarterly. Season tangles are 4-5 classes taught by a variety of teachers with that season as a theme.cthe price is awesome- at $36.00 for 5 great classes you can't go wrong!

Today's tile was from the "Life is a Beach" by Michele Wimmers.
