October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Did you know one out of three women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. That is 33% of all women. Domestic violence can happen to any one. Rich, poor, smart, professional- it doesn't matter.
This is a tough topic for me. I rarely share this with others but, I was one of those 33%. I was lucky. I had strong family support and was able to escape my situation before it became really bad. Other women aren't so lucky.
Becca over at The Damsel in Distress is hosting The Hop to Stop to raise awareness of domestic violence. There are amazing sponsors who are offering some great prizes.
Check out Becca's page
to join in the fun and to show your support. All you have to do is make
a card that features purple- the color of National Domestic Violence
Awareness Month.

Dearest Sue - one of the greatest things about this Hop is that I will get to "meet" more incredible, powerful, creative, kind women like you who are willing to talk about their stories. This issue has been a silent one for too long and I am SO grateful that you gave us a little insight into who you are.
I'm sending you LOTS of extra hugs today.
Thank you for linking up this adorably sweet creation - It's soooooo stinkin' cute and that sentiment is sheer perfection for this topic.
Thank you for sharing your story, Sue! Sending some hugs your way for all that you've been through! Love that sentiment...just perfect!
Beautiful card, Sue! Thanks for sharing about yourself and this great card too! Sending you hugs!

Sue, your card is absolutely amazing, just like you! Thank you for sharing a bit about yourself. You are a strong, amazing woman! ((hugs!))
What a beautiful card! For the ones that don't get out of the situation because of love, financial reasons, family etc. my heart goes out to them. I am glad you recognized it was time to get away before a greater consequence could happen. Hugs to you and thanks for sharing. I know it is hard to talk about and a subject that people prefer to stay away from.
A beautiful card, Sue. I found myself in an abusive relationship in my early twenties and feel very lucky that I was also able to move on from such a potentially damaging situation. Hugs to you, Jo x
