It's beginning to look alot like Christmas

Morning all!! I hope everyone is re covering from Thanksgiving? Are you turkeyed out? I have beem surfing the net for left over turkey recipes. The Skinnytaste "Leftover turkey harvest cobb salad" looks like a winner and the turkey croquettes look good, because I can use all those mashed potatoes I have leftover too. I think I will add cheese to these.

We are swinging into Christmas now, 4 weeks to go. How is your holiday card making going? If you need some inspiration, Inky Paws is hosting a sketch challenge for another week that will get your creative juices flowing.

My card today uses the new holiday paper pack, "Meowy Christmas" from from Newton's Nook. For my card I sponged some light brown ink onto the holly and berry paper to give it a more subtle and vintage feel to go with my "Poinsettia Blooms" stamp set.

Here is video to get you in the mood for your holiday creating!

Come and get your holidays started with our sketch challenge at Inky Paws.  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.
The deadline to enter today's challenge is  Friday, December 3, 2021 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

Thanksgiving

T
For some reason, Halloween has fallen off the radar in favor of Thanksgiving. I think it is the autumn colors I am feeling and they lend themselves to Thanksgiving.
This card uses a technique that Jennifer McGuire showed us at the Insider card class. It uses a resist with white pigment ink and strips of dye ink on top of the pigment ink. What a cool look!

Over at Just Us Girls they are having a photo inspiration challenge. You all might remember how difficult these are for me. I chose to focus on the pumpkins and the green hills of the photo. I kinda wimped out, but I still like the simplicity of the card.

The sketch at Less Is More was my basis for the card. I don't usually make square cards, but try as I might, I couldn't make this sketch work for an A2 card.

So glad school is done for a month! I am gonna stamp like crazy!

Have a fabulous weekend!

May your dreams blossom

Yesterday when I was driving home from work, I noticed that everything is blooming! I should have figured by the way I have been sneezing!

I love May, I love seeing the dogwoods, my sweet smelling vibernum, the irises showing off their beards, and the daffodils. The smells of spring just put you in a good mood.

In honor of all blooming things I created this card. At CAS-ual Fridays, they are challenging us to stamp on designer paper. I had to think about that one. I remembered my Hero Arts fabric backgrounds and thought yeah- that's the ticket. I stamped this background on several different sheets of DP, but none of them worked. You couldn't use anything to bold with too much color, it needed to be subtle. I found a pack of Basic Grey papers and the pink sheet worked great. I die cut and stamped the flowers and leaves from Papertrey Ink's Embroidered blooms set. All together you have that fabric, tapestry feel.

Another one of my favorite challenge sites- CASology is having us being inspired by the word "bloom". I think this card works for that challenge- don't you?

So even though it is cool spring day, my window to my studio is open and I can smell of blooming things.
