Happy Monday all! I am hoping that I have a much better week this week than last. I just have to give you all a quick recap. I run an endoscopy unit and last Monday, I found that our unit had been broken into and all my colonoscopes that are used for colonoscopies had been stolen!! 18 scopes!!
How crazy is that!! It seems there is a huge black market for scopes. Third world countries and drug cartels. Who knew! I was grateful to be able to borrow 5 scopes from my sister hospitals, so I was able to get my procedures done. It was hairy when I am used to having 18 scopes and had to make do with 5.
Anyway, it's a new week and I am happy to be sharing another card for the Inky Paws colored pencil challenge this week. Last week I talked about using my besties colored pencils because I really do not have a full set. This week I used her Farber Castell watercolor pencils.
Today I used the Peony Blooms from Newton's Nook for my delicate watercolored card. To get the soft watercolor look I wet my brush and take the color off of the tip of the pencil directly rather than color the image and then watercoloring it. I find when I do that I get all kinds of lines. The splatter is fun and easy to do. I get the tip of the pencil really wet and pigmenty with a thick brush and just start banging on the pencil with the brush to create the splatters.
Head on over to Inky Paws and join in our new colored pencil challenge. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.
The deadline to enter today's challenge is this Friday, May 3, 2019 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.
