Celebrate Today!

Happy Monday everyone! Today is a reminder week at Inky Paws. You have one more week yo join us in our sketch challenge.

I have had fun with this sketch.  With today's card, I was going literal. Sometimes that is just the easiest thing to do.

My card today features the following sets from Newton's Nook: "Happy Little Thoughts", and "Newton's Valentine" (I needed the bird from this set).

Let's see how our sketch inspires you! Come and join our challenge at Inky Paws.  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.
The deadline to enter today's challenge is  Friday, June 18, 2021 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws

Candy corn wreath

Boy, do I wish candy corn counted as a vegie!! I have a faithful Weight Watchers member for the past few years. Even though I am at goal, I still go to meetings once a week. My WW tribe keep me honest. I might not be able to eat candy corn but I can still have fun with them.

We are into our second week at  Inky Paws and the challenge is Halloween. A favorite holiday of mine!! I am so enjoying how everyone's entries. Lot's of good stuff there. What are you waiting for? Join in!

Today I used Newton's Nook "Candy Corn". I used a home made wreath builder and created my candy corn wreath. The fun of this card was coloring all the corn. I layered everything using Newton's Nook's "Square frame die set".

This card will be going to my friends at WW. I know they will appreciate it!

Head on over to Inky Paws and join in our spooky Halloween challenge. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is this Friday, September 20, 2019 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

Bird in wreath

How about the 100th challenge we just had at Inky Paws?!!? How much fun was that?!!? I hope you all had time to participate and perhaps win a prize.

This week starts a whole new challenge. Today Inky Paws is having a color challenge. Red, pink, lime, and light brown. Great summery colors.

Today's card features "Happy Little Thoughts" from Newton's Nook. This is a versatile wreath building set. The sentiment is from NN's "Birthday Essentials". The wee bird is from NN's “Newton’s Birthday Flutter”. I love mixing and matching my stamp sets.

Head on over to Inky Paws and join in our rainbow challenge. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is this Friday, July 12, 2019 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

Yellow splendor

Gosh!! I am having the best weekend!! I just finished a HUGE project for school and decided I am taking this weekend off until the next big project is due. I watched videos, read blogs, perused Pinterest and caught up on the latest trends. The coolest thing I saw was the new wreath building kit from Gina K. It is so popular, it is sold out everywhere. I watched a few videos but Jennifer Maguire had the best video on the versatility of this product. I watched it a few times and I thought I think I can make the wreath builder stencil myself.

I pulled out some acetate and created my own stencil. I am sure it is not perfect like the one I am waited listed for, but it worked for me!!

 I made three sizes, 4X4, 3 3/4X3 3/4 and an added size of 3 1/2X3 /1/2.

My card today was inspired by the monochromatic challenge at Less is More. I used my homemade wreath builder stencil and an old Avery Elle stamp set- "blossoms and blooms".

I chose yellow for my color because I am so in the need of sunshine and springtime. I CASED Jennifer Maguire with the layout. This card made smile!

Head over to Less is More and check out what everyone did. There are some very cool cards.

Got to get back to making more wreaths!! It is addicting!!

Blessings

Oh my, where does the time go? Just yesterday we were looking forward to summer, now I am looking  forward to the fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving.

This stamp was a found treasure. I have had it for a few years and rarely let it get inky. I stumbled across it a week or so back and now I keep coming back to it. I used it in this post  and when I saw the sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday, I knew that this wreath would be the ideal stamp. I went with a Fall/Thanksgiving theme and kept to my one layer CAS card.

Susan at Simplicity, my one layer CAS guru is hosting the Thanksgiving Crusade to remind us that Thanksgiving isn't about food, drink and football (try telling my family that!! :)) but it is about remembering our blessings. I am entering it at her Crusade Site also.

School's out..... lets play!

YIPEE!!! I am all done my school projects and I have a week or two off before I am back to the grind. i have been catching up on various challenges.

CASESTUDY had an interesting one. It featured a card by Jennifer Maguire as our inspiration. I remember seeing this card on her blog, soon after I had done a similar one for the Memory Box blog- Outside of the Box
I went very CAS and used a Penny Black wreath to make my interpretation. Using the challenge colors of green, aqua and orange from CASual Friday, I made a non-holiday card with a holiday stamp. Let's hear it for multitasking our stamps!

I liked the idea of this card and want to try it in other color combinations.

Well, enough of blogging, I have to get back to stamping!
