That blessed night

Penny Black has line of stamps that have the best price point. They were around $8.00, but have recently gone up to $9.00. Still a good price. "Blessed Birthday" is one of these self contained inexpensive stamps. This stamp was always sold out and it wasn't till after Christmas I was able to get it.

This week Christmas 24's theme is "Christmas Night". Christmas Night conjures up the thought of our first Christmas and the night of the Savior's birth. Today's card was a no brainer.

My card tip today is I stamped Bethlehem and fussy cut it, leaving a white border. I them went in with a copic marker and colored the cut edges with a marker that matched my background. This is a good tip for putting die cut images on darker card stock. See this blog post which includes a video on this technique.

You have two weeks to share what Christmas night means to you at Christmas 24. I can't wait to see what you all create.

Sapphire Harvest

Happy Sunday! Happy November!! Now starts the trifecta of holidays!! Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years!! It is the busiest time of the year for a card maker!!

Today starts a new color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. This months color is sapphire. Blues a bit tricky during a harvest month wouldn't you say. But no, not really. I say bring blue to the harvest!

My card today uses the "Golden Delight" by Penny Black and "Winter Aviary" by Flora and Fauna. A collection of blue and sapphire colored copics and voila- A blue harvest card!

Well I have met mt match with the color sapphire. I could not find one song with sapphire in the title. So I went with a group called The Sapphires. From my local town of Philly.

Let The Sapphires inspire your creations this month!

I have a special friend that loves blue, I think she will love my sapphire harvest card. You have all month to show us your sapphire creations at The Rainbow Card Challenge!!

Amber

Holy moly, it's September already!! Where did this summer go. It's not like we had vacations at the beach, time spent in the mountains and time with family. Nope it was hunkering down with staycations and work. I have to believe that by next summer this craziness will be over.

If it is a new month that means a new color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. This month's color is amber. A beautiful soft golden brown color to help us move into fall.

My card today uses a stamp set that I have been coveting for quite a while . "Exquisite Envelope" by Penny Black.

Sooooo, you are probably wondering if there is song about the color amber and guess what?!!? There is. Here is "Amber" the official video to inspire you.

You have the whole month of September to get your amber groove on at The Rainbow Card Challenge. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Live life in the meow!

There is a new challenge posted over at one of my new favorite challenges- The Library Challenge. If you are a reader this is a great challenge for you, but even if you aren't the book covers are so inspiring!

This week the challenge is based on the book "The Rainbow" by D.H. Lawrence. D.H. wrote very racybooks for the times. If you don't recognize "The Rainbow", you might know "Lady Chatterly's Lover" one of Lawrence most famous books.

What struck me about this cover was the bold primary colors and how they played off of each other. I decided to use the same colors and the layout. I am definately a cat person, so I pulled out an incredibly old stamp set from Inkadinkado. It was a give away at a Michael's opening. I go for this set time after time. We all have sets like that. What's yours?

To jazz it up I had to add some gems to the flowers on my kitties. The sentiment is from  a brand new set at Newton's Nook called "Cat-itude".

Go check out The Library Challenge.
