Boo to you

Soooooo....... from the scary to the cute. Last week for my Halloween card at Cupcake Inspirations, I wanted to "be afraid" Were you?  This week I want you to smile. I saw this card at Simon Says Stamp and used it as my inspiration.

You have one more week to get spooky creative at Cupcake Inspirations!

Today's card features the "hey ghoul" die from My Favorite  Things.  The original ghost die had a smile, but a hole puncher wiped that smile from my ghosties faces! The stencil is from Altenew.

ghosts and bats oh my!

I love making Halloween cards! I have sooooo many Halloween related craft supplies and it grows each year! That's why I was so excited to do the new challenge at Inky Paws!

We are looking for your best weeny creation! Scary, cute, fun, your choice!

My clean and simple card couldn't have been easier. I used the ghost stencil and the flying bats stencil from Newton's Nook. I added the trick or treat die from the Halloween trio die set in a speech bubble and the card was complete. Well, not quite complete, I added all the fun little faces on my ghosts.

Come and join our spooky Halloween challenge at Inky Paws.  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.
The deadline to enter today's challenge is  Friday, September 24, 2021 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

Halloween roundabout

One week till the spookiest night of the year! Yay!! Halloween!! I love it! If you haven't got your weener cards in the mail today, you better get crackin'! The mail has been so slow lately.

Today is anew challenge at Inky Paws. We have a great sketch challenge that begs you to use one of the new "roundabout" stamps from Newton's Nook.  If you haven't got any, check them out. Not only are they fun but they are very versatile.

Today's card features the "Spooky Roundabout". I die cut the image smaller than the actual stamp and stamped it a second time to fussy cut the ghosts. When put together it creates this fun effect of the ghosts flying off the image!

I hope you join us for our spooky color challenge at Inky Paws! You have one more week to play along at Inky Paws!  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Hipster ghosts

I am thinking some where in Brooklyn there are hipster ghosts hanging out!! Today's fun tongue in cheek card is inspired by the new challenge at CAS on Friday.

We are asking you to use PLAID on your CAS card. Since Halloween is just a week or two away, all I am making is spooky cards.

My card uses a very old Sizzix ghost die set. I use this die every year. The saying is from Ellen Hutson.

And if my hipster ghosts do not have enough plaid going on they surrounded by a embossed plaid background.

The next question is, "What did I do with the negative die cut piece? Good question. Waste not want not.

You have two weeks to play along with our PLAID challenge at CAS on Friday!

Boo

I love making Halloween cards, almost as much as I like making Christmas cards. This year my unplanned theme seems to be booooooo- ghosts.  Most of the cards I have made have ghosts in them.

Today's card is reminder that you have till Friday to play along with our sketch challenge at Inky Paws.

My card features the "Ghosts stencil" from Newton's Nook and the sentiment die from the "Halloween Trio" stamp set also from NN. To add interest to this card I drew in the faces on each of the ghostswith a black sharpie.

I hope you join us for our sketch challenge at Inky Paws! You have one more week to play along at Inky Paws!  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Boo

Sunday seems to be my CAS(E) this Sketch day

The sketch this week took a bit of thought and several ideas were whirling around, but this cute "boo" card won out. Besides it gave me the opportunity to use  this new set from Papertrey Ink- Polka Dot Parade #7.

Halloween is a common theme lately at many of the challenge sites. I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More for their "anything goes" challenge. Simply Create Too is looking for Halloween entries. The Friday Mashup is looking for anything spooky.

Sometimes the best cards are the most CAS. I came across some cards I made about 10 years ago and at the time I thought I was a great stamper. All I can see now is how busy they were, with to many even layers and techniques! While I can't bear to throw them away, I am not sure what to do with them.

Todays card is more my style these days.

Hope you enjoy and feel inspired by today's card.

Ghostly Greetings

Today at Just Us Girls we are having a technique challenge. My personal favorite type of challenge. The challenge is based on this video by Jennifer Maguire called Die Cut Inlays. It seems a bit complicated but it doesn't have to be and you get two cards for the price of one- always a beautiful thing! As you can see from my cards, I went all out and instead of strips of paper, I did chevron strips.

Here is the video so you can join in the fun and challenge yourself!

An easier version of this card is just to create your own striped paper with markers and do the same technique.

Please join us in the fun over at JUGS!
