Simplify

Claire who is my StampinUp rep has taught me something since I met her. She probably doesn't even realize it. She is teaching me to simplify my stamping. Each time I am at a party that Claire is doing she teaches us a couple of quick cards. They are alway simple yet wonderfully creative.

Even though I teach "less is more" to others, I find this concept very hard in my own stamping. My cards have to have layers, cut outs, embellishments, gems etc etc.

So when I made some card samples for Claire this week, I tried to simplify. I used the curly punch and stamp set from StampinUp for the samples.

I think we are all so busy in our lives running here and there, we need to take time to smell the roses and simplify our lives.

OH NO not another cat picture.......

Not much to share art wise today- lots of Quest projects being completed and ya know.... ya gotta check out the Stamper's Quest web site to see them.

You all here about Miss Pinkie all the time, but I do have other kitties.

Here is our Winky- although he has several names. He was christened Wilkie- but that changed to Winky and then sometimes Stinky.

Next is the crazy Zephry and like her name she is like the wind, fleeting and ephemeral. I call her my half cat as she is only home from November to May. then she leaves and doesn't return till it gets cold. When she is home she is so stinkin' loving ya get tired of her and wish it was time for her to leave again!!

That's it for this week Gang!!

You are a star!!

Well not only is it wedding and anniversary time, it is graduation time!!
I don't have anyone graduating but friends at work had me busy making grad cards. I like the ideas of stars for graduations....... reach for the stars..... you are a star.... you get the idea.

Here is the card I made for folks at work. I got to use both my cricut and cuttlebug!

Happy graduation to all you graduates out there, whether it is kindergarten, high school, college, grad school or trade schools, what you have done is an accomplishment!!

So REACH FOR THE STARS!!

What have I been up to?

This is the time of year for flowers and gardening. I know that I have spent a lot of time cleaning up my yard and getting some flowers planted in the gardens. My husband likes it too but he really likes vegetable gardening and has put in a bigger one this year. Isn't this African Violet pretty? It sits on the windowsill above my kitchen sink and it's one of three that are blooming! But that's not all I've been doing.......

I've been enjoying painting fabric, machine quilting it and sewing it into these clutches. This is one I made for my daughter. Most of the ones I've made so far I've given as gifts. I tuck a gift card in the purse and it becomes a gift in a gift. Love that!!! With my daughter's purse I painted the outside fabric shades of green and blue, she wanted one that was relatively plain. Then I bought the fabric for the lining........

This fabric and the two below it was fabric I bought at Lonni Rossi's in Ardmore, PA and then I added my own stamping and embellishing. Of course these fabrics I have ready to be sewn. I'm hoping to make up a bunch of purses to have ready as gifts, to use myself, or to sell. We'll see, I'm lovin them!

This is some fabric bought at Lonni Rossi's which I'm going to sew together in quilt fashion and then make into a purse. Just love the colors and design!

Remember the beads that Sue T. showed you that I did in a previous post? Well, I made some earrings from the beads and a necklace. I took them into work to show everyone what I had been doing and didn't they buy everything up!!! This is also a necklace I made from the beads. They were so easy to do and I'm loving the jewelry! Now I just have to make some more earrings.
Anyway, this is just a quick update to share what I've been up to. Today was my daughters last day of school, she's a middle schooler now. WOW! Seriously, vacation couldn't get here soon enough. We have a busy summer but it's gonna be great! I'll share my creative endeavors as I have time. Talk with ya soon,
Judy
