Lucky Day

Addicted to CAS is having a challenge that is near and dear to my heart- GREEN. Everyone who knows me, knows that I think green is the most beautiful color in the world! Sorry Margarita,  it really isn't pink!

I spent the day trying to finish my paper for school and just needed to call it a day and put it away. Tomorrow is another day.

Soooo, out came all the green inks and green type stamps. I used as the base of my card Paper Smooches Reflection set. This set is so great, that when I lost one of the smaller stamps in the set, I bought another one. The bird and branch are from Wplus 9 Love Birds.
Well, even though this is a CAS card, it did take a bit of time and planning, now i gotta go and make dinner. Check out the green challenge over at Addicted to CAS!

Birthday fishes

I have been out of commission for the last several days, school, work and life just kinda took over. Soooo today, I had a wee bit of time on my hands and decided to play along with the new Male Room Challenge . The theme this week is "under water".  Naturally one thinks of the sea, fish etc.

I have to confess I went that route also, but alas I had very few "under water" type stamps. I had to think outside the box for this card.

The water is from Simon Says Stamp's Flower Friend Set and the fish dies are a very old Spellbinder die set. The saying is made from an unknown alphabet set that a friend of mine was getting rid of. The thing that makes me the happiest with this card are the bubbles- I hole punched them and simply used the white card base to make them pop.

I can't wait to see what others make. I am entering this in the DT call. Here's hoping.

I am so lucky...

I love St. Patrick's Day, even if I am not the least bit Irish. Well maybe a bit by marriage- George is half Irish. But it it is a holiday that is all about the green and we all know the most beautiful color in the world is green!

Curtain Call is having a photo/word challenge. I was all about it. Come on- green, how could I resist. It is futile!

I got to use some stuff that gets very little use. The shamrock dies, not sure who makes it, I got it in a clearance bin. The lucky die and sentiment is all Papertrey Ink.

This will be for my lucky guy. And I am so lucky to have him in my life!

Check out Curtain Call for this lucky green challenge!

old school, retro, dated......

you decide. I'd like to think maybe retro. I used a variety of old stamps and ideas. I mean hasn't the butterfly with the gem bodies- isn't that so dated? But ya know what? I still like it. Its fun especially when aired with this old StampinUp set "flight of the butterfly".

It day after our first and last I hope major snow storm and I am wishin' for spring. the card inspiration at Tag You're... It made me feel all springy.

So whether it is old school, retro or even dated, this tag made me happy, warm and giggly. Check out Tag You're... It and see how the DT and others were inspired.

Love stuck

Don't ya love coming home to a package waiting for you?!!? Waiting for me the other day was a package from Lawn Fawn. I couldn't get in the house fast enough to open it. I got two of the new sets. I loved the set Stuck on You. Those cacti were just too cute. But are they manly enough for the sketch challenge at The Male Room?

As usual I always push the boundaries with sketches. But isn't that the point? I liked the idea of the sketch, but I just skipped the squares and went with the diagonal idea of images. The Male Room is having a design team call. I really like this challenge site, so I throwing my hat in the ring. I hope that fact that I am kinda cheating, no excuse me pushing boundaries (sounds more creative huh?) isn't going to be held against me when they consider me.

I have to say this card makes me smile and I know it will make my hubby chuckle when he gets it.

Go check out the Male Room and see what the DT is doing. Oh yeah if you enter a card, don't ask to be on the DT. that way they might have only me to choose! ha ha only kidding, no really I am, only kidding. I can't wait to see what you all do.

Friends- 2nd post for today

I have a best buddy and every know and again I send her a card just because. Aren't they the best cards to get? So when I saw the inspiration work "sprinkle" at Inkspirational I knew right away what I was going to do.

I quickly grabbed the stamp set "you and me" from Sweet and Sassy stamps. The salt and pepper worked perfect- because- "don't you sprinkle on salt and pepper?!!?"

Here is my sweet girl Zephyr, who is 18 years old today. She is doing what she does best these days sleeping. The salt and pepper reminded me of her fur- all white and gray these days.

Be sure to check out how others interpreted the word "sprinkle" at Inkspirational sw. Also if you are just checking in for the first time today, scroll down and see this month's card for the House of Cards challenge.

House of Cards Challenge

Enamel dots, where did they come from and how did they become so popular? I like them because they are flatter then pearls or gems. Makes the card less bulky for mailing.

There are so many companies selling this fun embellishments, but as you will see over the next four weeks at the House of Cards, there are many ways to make your own.

I tried to think outside the box for my card. I used my enamel dots as stars and planets in the anniversary card that I made for George. He loves all things astronomy and space. I think he will love this card- even if it doesn't feature a teddy bear!

The star banner is from Papertrey Ink, the space ship is an old Amuse stamp (remember when they weren't a Stampin Up wanna be) and Lawn Fawn rounds out the card with the sentiment from their Lucky Stars set.

Be sure to check back each week at the House of Cards to see how the teams were inspired by enamel dots and to see the videos on how to make your own!
