My card today is for my husband for 4thbof July. Because even after 34 years he still gives me fireworks. My birds are from Pretty Pink Posh, "Hummingbird Thanks" and the fireworks and sentiment are from My Favorite Things.

So as they say in Portlandia- "put a bird on it" and join us at Cupcake Inspirations for our "oh birdie" challenge. You have two weeks to play along.

Let's hear it for the ladies!

Wow this is a bit unusual for me. And I gotta admit I was a stumped by this challenge at CAS on Friday.

Today starts a new challenge at  CAS on Friday. We are asking you top put a

LADYBUG

on it. I searched my stamps till I came across this set from Hero Arts that had a ladybug in the set. Instead of just a red ladybugs, I made a rainbow of LBs.

I really can't wait to see what you all create for out "ladybug" challenge at CAS on Friday!

Summer Solstice and Sundays

This blog posts on Monday, but I am writing it on Sunday June 20. Not only is it Father's day, but it is the Summer Solstice in the northern hemisphere. It is the longest day of the year. It happens to a true summer day, hot and in the 90's. a perfect  day for a ice cream Sunday or a cone if that's your pleasure.

Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws and it is timely to the solstice. We are looking for your best summer creations.

Today's card features: "Newton's Summer Treats" and  "Summer Scoops" from Newton's Nook. We celebrated my husband's new fatherhood to these two little whipper snappers with do it your self hoagies and do it yourself Sundays for dessert.

Welcome summer and let's see how those hot hazy dog days inspire you.  Come and join our challenge at Inky Paws.  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

Patriotic blooms

This stamp set by Penny Black has been sitting on my desk just waiting for some inky love. The challenge at Cupcake Inspirations inspired me to try my hand with something different. I striped my flowers and they remind me of those striped petunias.

You still have one more week to play along with our red, white, and blue challenge at Cupcake Inspirations.

Please join us in our last week of our patriotic color challenge at Cupcake Inspirations!

Classy Christmas

Today starts a new challenge at Christmas 24.  We are looking for trees and ornaments.

I went classy with my card today- a bit unusual for me. I like cute and whimsical generally.

My card uses an old Clearly Besotted stamp set that unfortunately is no longer available.

This CAS, quick and easy card came together seamlessly, especially with these sentiment strips from Simon Says Stamp.

You have two weeks to show us your trees and balls at Christmas 24!

We the people

I send out cards for ALL the holidays, so that includes 4th of July.  4th of July stamp sets are hard to come by- kinda like St. Patrick's Day stamps. So when I see patriotic stamps, they are going in my cart!

Today starts a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. This challenge reads patriotic!

We want you to get your flag on, using red, white, and blue on your creations at Cupcake Inspirations

My card today features two stamps no longer available, the wood stamp with the Declaration of Independence on it and the Paper Smooches sentiment. But the "Simply Celebrate" set from Lawn Fawn is one of my go to stamp sets for a quick and easy card.

You have two weeks to get your flag on at Cupcake Inspirations and show us your red, white, and blue!!

Floral frenzy

What was the first stamp you bought way, way way back when you first began stamping? IO betcha it was a floral stamp or a flower stamp was among one of the first you got. Flower stamps are the most versatile of all stamps. they can be used for all occasions.

Today at CAS on Friday we want you to create a CAS card using:

FLOWERS

I think this one is a no-brainer so I expect to see lots of entries!!

For today's card I used a new stamp set- no I couldn't use one of the thirty or so flowers tamp sets I already had, noooooo I had to get a new one!! I just couldn't resist "Tulips" from Reverse Confetti!

So come on over to CAS on Friday and join our floral frenzy!!

HEARTfelt thanks

The roses are in full bloom around the neighborhood and while I am not a huge fan of roses I do love a yellow rose. Did you know that a yellow rose signifies friendship?

Yellow Roses

Yellow roses are a symbol of friendship and caring. Never send yellow roses to someone you are romantically interested in, as this suggests you would prefer to stay in the friend zone. In fact, yellow roses are one of the only roses that have no romantic meaning behind them.

Sending yellow roses to a friend is a lighthearted and kind way to show them you were thinking of them. It speaks towards optimism and is not likely to be mistaken as a romantic advance should you send them to a co-worker or friend.

Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws?

A clever sketch challenge for you all.

Today's card uses the following stamps and dies from Newton's Nook, "Heartfelt Roses", "Roses" and heart  frame dies.

Let's see how our sketch inspires you! Come and join our challenge at Inky Paws.  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.
