Good nurse, bad nurse

I am a nurse, so I am allowed to talk about bad nurses. But that's the thing nurses aren't bad. In fact for the 18th year running nurses were voted as the most trusted profession in the Gallop poll. The only year nurses came in second was 2011 when first responders came in as number one.

I still cracked up over the image though. Everyone can use a laugh when they are sick. It is true that laughter is the best medicine.

Today is the start of a new challenge at CAS on Friday. Today's theme is:

GET WELL

I do not have many get well stamp sets and can honestly say for all the cards I send out, I rarely send a get well card. But I did have this very funny Art Impressions stamp set. The "bad nurse" really made me chuckle.

My brother is in the hospital after having surgery and I will be sending this card to him.

Check out what the  CAS on Friday team came up with and play along. You have till Wednesday February 5, 6:00 PM Dutch Time to enter.

up, up, and away

I know I have mentioned in other postings how much George loves anything with bears on it, so "Winston take flight" from Newton's Nook had to be one of the first stamps I grabbed for today's theme challenge at Inky Paws.

Hearts. My stamping has been all about hearts. I am busy getting ready for one of the biggest card holidays in the year. One can never have enough heart cards

The exhaust tail of hearts from Winston's plane is the tumbling heart stencil from Newton's Nook.

We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Hi everyone! Happy Monday! It's another wonderful day in the neighborhood! The weather has been so balmy and warm- 68degrees for January!! It's a tease and reminder that spring will be coming.

That's the whole reason behind my card for the Inky Paw's sketch challenge this week. Those vibrant pink peonies are just screaming spring. You still have one more week to play along with all us cats over at Inky Paws!

To make this cheerful springy birthday card, I used the following products from Newton's Nook: Peony Blooms Loads of Flowers, and Frames and Flags die set.

Winter hugs and new DT.

I am super excited to announce that i have been asked to be a part of the CAS on Friday DT. As most of you know, CAS is my gig, it is where my creativity leads and it is what makes my heart happy.

Today is my first posting with them. The theme for today's challenge is

"Winter"

That is pretty broad. Anyone should be able to play along. Just remember you have to submitted a CAS card if you want to be considered for  Top 3.

Once again I am using "Fuzzy Hugs" by Mama Elephant. This time I am using the sweet penguins. This card I am saving for my DH for Valentine's Day.

Wish me well on the CAS on Friday team by playing along. You have till Wednesday January 22nd 6:00 PM Dutch Time to enter.

Sparkle

Hey everyone! Welcome to the first challenge this year over at Inky Paws. We are easing you into the next decade with a simple sketch challenge.

This was a perfect challenge for me to keep my post holiday mojo up. I grabbed the "Believe in Unicorns" from Newton's Nook to inspire me. What better way to welcome the new year than with a ride on a unicorn into a rainbow sun!

I hope the sparkle on my unicorn does not go unnoticed!!

You have two weeks to get your mojo moving and to play along with our  sketch challenge at Inky Paws! We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

Christmas Hugs

Good morning everyone. I am sharing one of the cards I made for my dear hubby this year. He is a sucker for a teddy bear or bears of any kind of actually. When I saw this "Fuzzy Hugs" by Mama Elephant, I had to buy it. It is perfect for Christmas and even Valentine's Day or winter anniversaries.

I always have a theme color for all of his cards that George gets at Christmas. The color theme was the traditional red and green.

I am entering this card over at the  Inspired By challenge. They are looking for a winter theme.
I am also entering it at Christmas 24. They are hosting a DT call.

Hope all of you have a creative weekend. I am off to work on Valentine cards.

Christmas 24 Challenge

Hey everyone! Is it still OK to be posting holiday cards? I mean Christmas and New Year's is behind  us. Well, it's OK when you are participating at a new Christmas card challenge called Christmas 24. A card challenge that is all things Christmas.

I can not think of a better way to jump start next years cards then by making them all year long. Christmas 24 is also holding a DT call. I am throwing my hat into that ring as well.

This card exemplifies my CAS style. Because it is monochromatic, you can make this card in any color. Green is my favorite color, but I also tried it in pink- my buddy Margarita's fav color. I can hear her saying- "Pink! It is the most beautiful color in the world!"

The trees are from Neat and Tangled- Scandinavian Prints. I also used the new masking stencil set from Taylored Expressions.

Head over to Christmas 24 and get a jump start on next year's cards and share what you created.
