Peace on Earth

Wait a minute!! Isn't the challenge at Cupcake Inspirations still "shades of blue"? Nope?!!? What was I thinking?!!? Hey wait, it's OK!! The theme is SNOWFLAKES!

I have been wanting to use this big snowflake stencil from Gina K this year and the new "snowflake" challenge at Cupcake Inspirations was the perfect opportunity to use it.

This card was so pretty, I decided to try it in another color scheme.

A very tropical snowflake!

This is our last challenge at Cupcake Inspirations for 2020. I hope you will play along. Wishing all of you a very blessed Christmas and healthy New Year!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!!!

HAPPY WORLD CARD MAKING DAY!!!

This is the best day in a stamper's year! Today I am spending my day in the studio doing just that-making cards.

Today's card is one I made especially for my boss's daughter who is a doodler and is beginning to explore the world of Zentangle. My card combines my love of Zentangle and stamping. My motto in life is stamped right on this card- "be creative everyday".   The cute little zebra is from Reverse Confetti's "Crafty Critters".

I stamped the sentiment and I tangled around at.

So all you stampers and crafters- head to your work area and create some cards to celebrate the craftiest day of the year!

Flowery holidays

Christmas cards on 80 something degree days!! Something seems wrong with this picture. Not if you want to get a head start on your holiday cards. I do not have many floral Christmas stamps, so when I saw this Simon Says Stamp Stamptember collaboration with Gina K, I knew I had to buy this set. It is a perfect image to color in.

Today's challenge at Christmas 24 is:

A perfect opportunity to get this new stamp set inky. To color in my poinsettia, I used my Zig clean color brushes.

I embossed the image in gold to add elegance to this CAS card.

You have two weeks to get Christmas flower stamps ink and to play along with us at Christmas 24!!

Yellow splendor

Gosh!! I am having the best weekend!! I just finished a HUGE project for school and decided I am taking this weekend off until the next big project is due. I watched videos, read blogs, perused Pinterest and caught up on the latest trends. The coolest thing I saw was the new wreath building kit from Gina K. It is so popular, it is sold out everywhere. I watched a few videos but Jennifer Maguire had the best video on the versatility of this product. I watched it a few times and I thought I think I can make the wreath builder stencil myself.

I pulled out some acetate and created my own stencil. I am sure it is not perfect like the one I am waited listed for, but it worked for me!!

 I made three sizes, 4X4, 3 3/4X3 3/4 and an added size of 3 1/2X3 /1/2.

My card today was inspired by the monochromatic challenge at Less is More. I used my homemade wreath builder stencil and an old Avery Elle stamp set- "blossoms and blooms".

I chose yellow for my color because I am so in the need of sunshine and springtime. I CASED Jennifer Maguire with the layout. This card made smile!

Head over to Less is More and check out what everyone did. There are some very cool cards.

Got to get back to making more wreaths!! It is addicting!!
