BFF

Happy May everyone!! I am writing this blog ahead of time and I can only hope that 'sprinter" is gone and spring has taken over!

Today starts a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations.

We are looking for a card for that special gal in your life, whether she is a mom. grandmom, sister, aunt or maybe just your BFF.

My card today is for my BFF, Pat. I don't know what I would do without her and I suspect she would say the same about me. What started as just a shared love of crafting has grown into a strong and abiding friendship. We are true soul sisters.

My card today features Art Expressions "Laughing Set". One of my goals for 2022 was to send a RAK card each month and you guessed it, this is going to Pat.

Please join us to celebrate that special gal in your life. You have two weeks to play along at Cupcake Inspirations. Check out our blog, we have a special sponsor.

There is a $25.00 credit Crafty Meraki's shop for two lucky winners!

Enjoy the Ride

OK, I am taking a bit of poetic license with "Sports" theme at Cupcake inspirations since I have run out of sports theme stamps, I had to go searching through my stash to find something that works.

I came across this set from Art Impressions. I think skate boarding can be considered a sport. And I know shopping can be considered a sport.

You have more week to share your sporty theme creation with us at Cupcake Inspirations! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Sip happens and a new challenge

Happy Sunday all! I recently discovered a new challenge site that is right up my alley. It is The Library Challenge"!!! How awesome is that?!!? Libraries are my second home and I easily read a book a week.

I had to play along.  The book inspiration is the book titled- The Art of the Stripe. Love this minimalistic cover. Not to mention my wardrobe consists of a whole lot of stripes.

When I was trying to decide inwhat direction to go for my card, this Art Impression stamp set jumped out at me. Here was the cover girl 50 years in the future. Newton's Nook supplied the sentiment from their "wine a little" stamp set. Using the book cover colors for inspiration, this card came together quickly.

Check out The Library Challenge and play along.

The Male Room Challenge

What a fun challenge over at the Male Room this week! Song titles! Goodness it can be as complicated or as simple as my card.

I love this "surfer dude" from Art Impressions and usually use him at least a few times a year. I spiffed him up with patriotic garb and he is ready to belt out "Surfin' USA"!

So start humming your favorite song title and play along at the Male Room this week!

Dude-it's time to celebrate!

There are only 8 of us in my class going for our BSN. In class I sit next to a young male nurse. Not only does he write beautifully (everyone wants him to proof read their papers) he cracks me up. I work with all women my age (old:)), so Ryan is a breath of fresh air.

He is celebrating a birthday this week and I am pretty sure it is a big one- 30! Since it is a summer birthday and well Ryan is a guy and he grew up near the ocean, I thought my surfer penguin from Art Impressions would be perfect.
I used the blueprint from this card I made for a friend's daughter's wedding.

Now I know most guys really aren't into cards, but I think Ryan is gonna like this old lady's hand made birthday wishes.

I am entering this card in the challenge over at CAS-ual Friday. The theme is things you see at or in the ocean.

So Happy Birthday Ryan!!

surfer penguin dude

I just love this little surfer dude from Art Impressions even if he is penguin! (sorry Bevy B.) He made a great card for my brother's July birthday. Paired with a set from Darcie's stamps and you have a happy summery card.

Check out this card from last August using the same stamp.

Hope you are all enjoying the brief respite from the heat!

Stay cool and be creative!
