Pinkie screams for ice cream!

Happy Labor Day everyone!! To me the Labor Day signifies the end of summer. The leaves are already starting to fall, and it is beginning to become darker earlier. It also means the weather will be getting cooler. I don't do ice cream in the cold weather. Only in the summer. I know I am weird. But it's helpful for my diet!! Miss Pinkie though, will eat ice cream any old time, just like her daddy George. It could be minus 10 degrees and they will be slurping down an ice cream cone.

Inky Paws  is having a sketch challenge this week.

Come on guys! Play along! Half the work is done for you! The design is there to copy! Take it literally or think outside the box.

I had fun with this one. I had been wanting to try this technique from Jennifer Maguire for a popup window card. I don't usually do this complicate interactive cards, being a CAS gal, but this technique looked like so much fun and I could keep it reasonable CAS.

How is it that I found the perfect ice cream pattern paper in my stash! I used "Newton's Summer Treats" and "Summer Scoops" for today's card.

Head onto over to Inky Paws and join in this sketch challenge. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. We will highlight our favorite entries from each challenge the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is Friday September 14, 2018, at MN CST. the winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

CASing Sandy

I came across this video from Sandy Allnock sometime after Christmas and the bright colors on her cards really intrigued me.

I watched it and immediately had to play. I pulled out my color burst powders and created my own bright backgrounds.

I decided these warm reds would make a perfect Valentine card. I won't describe the process, please watch the video.

CAS on Sunday is challenging us to use hearts in our work, so I am entering this. card.

Try your hand at this awesome technique and play along at CAS on Sunday!

House of Cards October Challenge Texture

Fall has definitely arrived in my neighborhood. It is grey, windy and cold. I think we will be able to go with out the AC tonight!

This month at House of Cards we have a duel challenge:

You can use these colors but we want you to add some texture to your creations! I recently treated myself to a webcam to make videos. Today is my first video! Bare with me please it is my first and I am still learning.

Today's card features the colors and texture.

If you watched the video, you will see all the textures I talked about. This card kinda reminds me of the book "Pat the Bunny". You just want to touch it and feel it.

AAA cards is having a a challenge that fits my card,so I had to play along: wordplay.

I hope you enjoyed my first video, hopefully they will improve. Hope to see you all over at the House of Cards for this month's color/texture challenge!

Duo of Butterflies

Ahhhhhh, Sue V. is hosting a great color challenge at Just Us Girls this week. Well if you know me, you know that I think green is the most beautiful color in the world (sorry Margarita- it isn't pink!) and pair it with blue- well what can ya say- I am in heaven!!

I had made another card, when I wasn't sure I was going to have time to create this week. It was kinda crappy and a cop out. I came across this video from Dawn at Wplus9 and knew I had to try this technique. I didn't have the butterfly from Wplus9, but I did make do with this stamp from Hero Arts- an oldie but goodie that has always survived my purges.

There is something so zen about watercoloring especially when its dawn and the house is quiet and some soft music is playing in the background. I couldn't screw it up with all those peaceful and creative vibes going on around me. Check out Dawn's video, she really makes these butterflies look easy and they are.

While I was surfing the net before I started on my project, I remembered today is the August release day at Papertrey Ink. I came across this card by Nicole Heady and loved the look of copics on the kraft paper. I pulled out another oldie but goodie from Hero Arts.  I stamped and embossed with white and just colored the image in with the required colors. Easy- peasy.

If you ever watch any of those cooking competitions, many of the cockier chefs will try to make a duo of something and it often turns around to bite them in the butt. I hope that this isn't the case with my duo.

I hope to see your creations this week at Just Us Girls!

Happy Dancing!!

I am so doing the HAPPY DANCE!!!! I just finished my final take home essay test for school!!! And while I still have my 4 core classes to go to finish my BSN, I have 4 weeks off till Spanish starts and boy am I gonna stamp!!

I am so gonna "live in the moment"!!

I was surfing through the challenges and came across this technique challenge at "Just Us Girls". I involved a grid technique. I checked out this video and gave it a whirl.

Since the weather has been so fall like, and I had this new set from Paper Smooches "Leafy Greens" and I had to use it and create a CAS autumn card.

Just Us Girls is also having a design team call, so with this card I am throwing my hat in the ring. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

The ladies over at 613 Avenue Create have a fall challenge going, so I am entering this card there too.

My Time to Craft is featuring autumn colors, so I think I will submit this there also.

Try the grid technique, its cool!
