Clover

Happy Monday! Heart day is over and it is time to move on to the next holiday. Now I know many people don't celebrate this particular holiday,  but being of Celtic origin and having many Irish and Celtic folk in my life St. Patrick's Day is a big deal. Hey!! isn't everyone Irish on St. Patrick's day anyway?

Today is a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations! It is a crowd pleaser! Anything goes! Yep- whatever your little creative brain wants you get to do!! See those naked cupcakes they are waiting for your inspiration!

My card features "4 Leaf Clover" by Colorado Craft and the fun saying is from Taylored Expression. I am always on the lookout for St. Patrick stamps and craft supplies. They aren't the most common. Anyone have one's they love?

Time to get you inspired with "Whiskey in the Jar" by the Dubliner's.

Let the "anything goes" theme inspire you and share your creations with us at Cupcake Inspiration. You have two weeks to play along!

St. Kitty's day?

Isn't everyone Irish on St. Patrick's Day? So is everyone a cat on St. Kitty's Day? Well Newton is not only a kitty but he is clearly Irish too!

Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws. We have a fun and easy sketch for you. You have lots of ways to go with this one.

My card today features one of my favorite Newton Nook stamp set and it gets inked up every March! "Newton's Pot of Gold".  I also used the new "basketweave" stencil from Newton's Nook.

I can't wait to see how all of you interpret the sketch at Inky Paws.  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.
The deadline to enter today's challenge is  Friday, March 26, 2021 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

Irish luck

We have been having a touch of spring in our weather. Temps have climbed into the 50s and we might see 64 next week. Spring is peeking around the corner.

Which quite coincidentally is the new challenge at CAS on Friday:

SPRING

Today's card features something old and something new. I fell in love with this adorable stamp set from Colorado Craft Company- a new company to me. That wee mouse holding a four leaf clover is just so dang cute! The sentiments and shamrocks are from Paper Tray Ink's Irish Blessings. Which is on sale for only $6.00!!!!

You have to weeks to get a spring in your step and spring on your cards!! Be sure to share your springy cards with us at CAS on Friday!!

Luck Leprechaun

March 1, my thoughts turn to Irish potatoes, shamrocks, leprechauns, green beer, and spring. But March 1 also means a new color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge.

This month's color is jade. A rich green with a bluish hint to it.

My card today feature's rainbow stencil from Erin Lee. rainbows seem to be quite popular these days. the fun thing about the Erin Lee stencil is comes with two rainbows. One for a vertical card and one for a horizontal card. The cute wee leprechaun is from Pretty Pink Posh. This is my go to set for St. Patrick's Day.

This month's musical inspiration is one of favorite Irish songs. Come on Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners.

You have all month to play along with our jade challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge.

we are all Irish

It's the first of the month and that means another color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. This is my favorite of mine because the challenge is to use the color emerald, and well.... emerald is a shade of green which as we all know is the most beautiful color in the world. (sorry Margarita- sadly it really is not pink!)

Of course my card had to be a St.. Patrick's day card. My boss is hard core Irish. Every year I make him a fun St. Patty's card and buy him a growler of beer.

St. Patty's stamps are hard to find- kinda like a four-leaf clover. When I find some I generally buy them. This adorable set is from Darcie's- Irish today

Today's music inspiration is "Emerald Eyes" by Fleetwood Mac.

So pull out your emerald markers, inks, papers, tapes and ribbons.

You have all month to play along with us at The Rainbow Card Challenge. Can't wait to see how you use the color emerald!

Lucky

Happy March everyone!! It's one month closer to spring and that is making me so happy. As I write this we are having yet another "snow event". I am so sick of "snow events". Bring on spring!!

Inky Paws. is in the second week of a fun sketch challenge and there is still time to play along.

My card today features Newton's pot of gold. I love this stamp set and it is a staple for that green holiday. I filled the pot with gold shards. The rainbow was created with copics.

Head on over to Inky Paws and join in sketch challenge. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is Friday, March 8, 2019 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

Lucky to know you!

I am finally getting round to the sketch challenge at Inky Paws. This card has taken me several days to make. Work has been crazy for me. I normally work four 10 hour days, but this week I was in at 5am and home around 6 for five days. If you are in healthcare you know about the push for electronic medical records. My health care system started EPIC our new EMR this week. So I was busy while my staff and I got used to it.

I normally sit down and figure out a card in one sitting, but this card was worked on for a few found minutes each day; usually when I was waiting for my bath to fill. I finally finished it yesterday.

I was very literal with the sketch this time. I was too whipped to be very creative. I went with a St. Patty's theme. This card will go to George the DH since he is half Irish. Usually my kitty is colored like my Pinkie girl, but I wanted the contrast of the orange and green and heck aren't orange and green, St. Patty colors?

I used a bunch of NN stuff for this card. I used Newton's Pot of Gold stamp set. There are not many good St. Patty stamps out there and this one is a winner!! The tag is from the fancy edges tag die set and my banners are from the frame and flag die sets. Lastly, I filled Newton's pot of gold with "real gold".

I decided to enter this card in a new challenge site I just discovered. Stamp, ink, paper. They are having a challenge with four-leggedd friends" as the theme. Newton certainly applies here.

Working on this card each day relaxed me during this very stressful week. Head on over to Inky Paws and Stamp, ink, paper and see what everyone is doing for the challenges. There are some very creative cards there. Let the DTs inspire you to join in the fun!!

I send cards out for all the holidays, I mean I a cardmaker aren't I. One of my favorite holidays to make cards for is St.Patrick's day. I mean it does feature the most beautiful color in the world- GREEN!! Also, I do know quite a few Irish folk- including my own DH, George.

Over the years I have collected quite a few St. Patty's stamps. This year I was ready for some new stamps. I headed over to Laura's Loft and picked up some new stamps. Let me show you what I came up with.

I was really thinking outside the box here. I started with My Favorite Things- Abstract Art.
I stamped it using a the distress ink minis,  kits #15, #2, #13, and #14- lucky clover, mowed lawn, cracked pistachio and twisted citron.

The sentiment and shamrocks were from Newton's Nook- Simply Seasonal and were black embossed.  I thought outside the box on this one huh?

My second card shows how you can use those tiny little stamps that often come in sentiment stamp sets. Again I used Newton's Nook- Simply Seasonal. I took the wee shamrock in the set and created a fun shamrock wreath.

I traced a circle lightly with a pencil to use as a guide and just stamped my shamrocks around the circle using the distress mins again- kits #15, #2 and #14. Lucky clover, mowed lawn and twisted citron.  I stamped the saying in black, added a ribbon and bling and voila there you have it.
