Little Things

Happy Monday. Well fall did blow in on Thursday and the weather has been refreshingly cool. Something about being able to put on a sweater makes me happy. Thankful for these little things.

Today we start a new sketch challenge at Inky Paws. I decided to turn the sketch on it's head, being as I am partial to vertical cards.

Today's card uses lots of fun product from Newton's Nook. "Paw-tumn Newton", "falling leaves" stencil, and "fancy edges tag" die set,

I am not really familiar with this group- One Direction, but their song "Little Things" is just so sweet.

You have two weeks to play along at our sketch challenge at Inky Paws.  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is  Friday October 7, 2022 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at  Inky Paws.

Tag, your it!

Who doesn't like tags? They can be simple to miniature works of art. This week at Inky Paws we are asking you to make tags.Every year, I sell left over cards to folks at work. there is one person who is always looking for tags. So each year, I make a bunch of tags just for her.

I know there are going to be some very happy campers out there because some of you play along love to make tags. You know who you are and this challenge is for you!!!

All my tags today feature the new paper pad,  "Meowy Christmas" and the tag die set both from Newton's Nook. All the elements are also from Newton's Nook. I will provide links in the description of each tag.

Tag 1 was the most time consuming, but for some one special it was worth putting in a bit more effort. The tag features "Poinsettia Blooms" and "Sentiments of the Season".

Tag 2,  I embossed the background using this music stencil. Do you know how to use your stencils to emboss? It is a fun technique to stretch your stencils. The tag swag uses the "Pines and Holly" dies set.

Here is a quick video to dry emboss using your stencils.

Tag 3, is a bit more simple, just strips of paper from Meowy Christmas" and the image from "Purr-fect Present".  Poor Newton looks kinda like a raccoon! Not my best coloring! LOL!!

Tag 4 is the easiest by far. Just strips of Meowy Christmas" paper and the sentiment added using the "Holiday Greetings" die set.

This will be our last challenge at Inky Paws for this year! So I hope you all play along and show us your tag creations! You have two weeks tom play along. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

Shellabrate

I hope everyone is enjoying the long 4th of July weekend. It has been quiet in my neighborhood. No fireworks again this year, and it seems like most people have headed somewhere else for the holiday.

Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws. We have a summery color challenge and are asking you to use red, pink, yellow, and white in your creations.

My CAS card today uses a new stamp set from Newton's Nook called "Seashell Roundabout". To apply to fun color to my seashell tag I used the bokeh stencil set.

Come and join our summery color challenge at Inky Paws.  We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

we are all Irish

It's the first of the month and that means another color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. This is my favorite of mine because the challenge is to use the color emerald, and well.... emerald is a shade of green which as we all know is the most beautiful color in the world. (sorry Margarita- sadly it really is not pink!)

Of course my card had to be a St.. Patrick's day card. My boss is hard core Irish. Every year I make him a fun St. Patty's card and buy him a growler of beer.

St. Patty's stamps are hard to find- kinda like a four-leaf clover. When I find some I generally buy them. This adorable set is from Darcie's- Irish today

Today's music inspiration is "Emerald Eyes" by Fleetwood Mac.

So pull out your emerald markers, inks, papers, tapes and ribbons.

You have all month to play along with us at The Rainbow Card Challenge. Can't wait to see how you use the color emerald!

Beach days

My best buddy and sister in law just loves the beach. Once the weather is warm she heads right to the sand and surf to spend the day in the sun.  When you go to the beach with her, it is an all day event. So plan accordingly, lots of sunscreen, lunch, drinks, snacks, and good books.

Sandi, inspired this card for the Inky Paws sketch challenge and it is going to her for her birthday.

My card features the following products from Newton's Nook. Sunscape stencil, Aloha Newton stamp set, and fancy edges tag set.

With the weather starting to warm up and March being just around the corner beach days are starting to look real good!

You have two weeks to play with this fun sketch challenge at Inky Paws! We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

Classic Peonies

Generally, I am a whimisical and cute kinda girl. So, a classy card is a leap for me. The "peony blooms set" from Newton's Nook makes classy easy.

The new challenge at Inky Paws is a color challenge.

Look at these bright summery colors! Fushia, orange, yellow and turquoise. These are happy colors that make me smile.

For my card today.  I pulled out my zig clean color pens. I tend to forget about them. Using cold press water color paper I created a watercolor wash with my zig pens using water to spread the colors around. I let the piece dry and I stamped the peony bloom.

I die cut the peonies and layered them onto a tag  die cut from "fancy edges tag die set".  I layered the tag onto an embossed "framework die set". I kept the base of the card all white so the peonies would pop. A good tip for all of you stampers.

Head onto over to Inky Paws and join in this fun color challenge. We will cose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. We will highlight our favorite entries from each challenge the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is Friday August 3, 2018, at MN CST. the winners will be announced on the following Monday at Inky Paws.

You are unique

Massive computer problems today, some how I lost ALL of my photos. I will be on the phone with Apple all afternoon. In the mean time I managed to backdoor my photos for today's posting from here to there to there to get them in blogger.

Before all this craziness happened, I made this card for the MIX-IT-UP challenge going on over at Ellen Hutson's blog.

Ellen is asking us to mix it up using stamps from Essentials by Ellen and Reverse Confetti. Two of my more fav companies!!

For today's card I used these sets from Essentials by Ellen: Wish Big and Bokeh Dots. From Reverse Confetti I used this tag die and the Fabulous Flamingos- unfortunately it is no longer available.

This was a great challenge and if I didn't have to spend the afternoon on the phone with Apple, I might have tried making another card. Please check out this awesome challenge.

Sunny days

I have been stuck on a theme lately and it involves clouds, the sun and anything that relates to them. Bare with me, you may not have seen the end to this theme. I will at least try to shake it up a bit each time.

Soooooo, today's card is based on the new challenge at The Male Room. We are asking you to add a tag to your project. I love tags. I have a HUGE box full of them. My card is loosely based on a card with a tag that Laura Bassen made for the new online card class MASK-erade.

I have a couple of theses sun ray stamps that were so hot (pun intended) last summer. My sunshine is from Mama Elephant and I love this set because it has the best sentiments in it.

The cute little plane is from my new favorite company- Lawn Fawn- Bon Voyage .

ooooooh...... what's peaking out from inside the card?

Now it is your turn to show us how you will use a tag on your best masculine card! Please join us at the Male room!
