This was a perfect challenge for me to keep my post holiday mojo up. I grabbed the "Believe in Unicorns" from Newton's Nook to inspire me. What better way to welcome the new year than with a ride on a unicorn into a rainbow sun!

I can tweet a rainbow

Yay!! It's finally summer. You know what summer means don't you? Thunderstorms right? And what comes after a thunderstorm? Yep- that's right a rainbow. Ya gotta love a rainbow.

This month's color challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge is to create a neon rainbow card. Neon wow- love that!! This one was a no brainer as I was inspired by picture.

This card is just one of my DH's anniversery cards. The bright neon toucans are striking and vibrant against the black cardstock.

I used Newton's Nook's Toucan Party. This is my go to bird stamp set.

To get you in the mood, this month's music inspiration is from Kacey Musgraves singing her newly released song Rainbow.

Join us at The Rainbow Card Challenge for this bright neon challenge!! You have the month of June to create gorgeous neon rainbow cards!!

Lucky

Happy March everyone!! It's one month closer to spring and that is making me so happy. As I write this we are having yet another "snow event". I am so sick of "snow events". Bring on spring!!

Inky Paws. is in the second week of a fun sketch challenge and there is still time to play along.

My card today features Newton's pot of gold. I love this stamp set and it is a staple for that green holiday. I filled the pot with gold shards. The rainbow was created with copics.

Colorful crafty friends!!

Is there anything better than crafty friends? I have a core group of crafty peeps. We try to get together to craft a few times a year. We always have a crafting weekend in the Pocono mountains in Pennsylvania each summer.

I arrive a day ahead with my buddy Pat and we get the house ready for the rest of the crew. We spend the weekend crafting. There is usually a card swap, a class and everyone contributes a stamping tip through out the weekend. There is stamping going on at 6 in the morning until midnight.

We only stop for sustenance and a trip to get ice cream cones.

The weekend is always a blast. Good food, great music, awesome art, good times and crafty best friends!!

I always send a card out to the group a week before the weekend to pump everyone up. I think this will be the card that goes out.

I found a very old wooden stamp from Invoke Arts, back when I was dabbling in artsy fartsy stamping. When I saw the "rainbow" challenge at Addicted to CAS, the idea of how to show this very old stamp some ink and love came to me.

And hey isn't Less or More have a challenge with the theme of friendship going on for just a few more hours!! I am getting this entry in just under the wire.

All I can say is if you read this in time, head on over to either sites, see what others have created and join in the fun!!

Cool Chick

Gosh- I know it has been awhile since I have blogged, but I didn't think I would forget how to use blogger! I had the worst time trying to upload my photos from iphoto. Anyone having problems with that?

Anyway, I figured out a workaround. Grad school has been incredibly stressful and time consuming. This past week was the first time I have had to really sit down and stamp.

Today's card fits the bill for a few challenges. These were supposed to be Easter cards, but since I didn't get to stamp until after Easter, they are spring cards!! 😀

I used this super cute stamp set from Simon Says Stamp- Some Bunny. The background was done using this fun stencil from Timmy and a rainbow of distress inks.

This card just makes me splashing in puddles, dancing in moonlight, spinning under the sun kinda happy!

I am entering it in a few challenges:

Use a Stencil

I have a few weeks off until I am back at school, so hopefully you may see me again soon. Until then check out these great challenges!

Pocono wrapup

If you read last Saturday's blog posting, you will know I spent a long weekend in the Pocono mountains in Pennsylvania for a stamping weekend. A few of my girlfriends and I get together at least once a year for this big crafting, eating and chick bonding time. We get up and start stamping before the coffee is poured and we don't stop until its time for dinner. Well everyone else stamps till dinner- I stop at 5pm to make dinner. I love to cook, so it is my job to feed everyone.
We always try to have a few projects in mind when we go up. I had lots of challenges to stay ahead on since I started my first class in my Master's program this past Weds.

This week at Just Us Girls is Marisa's last challenge with us as designer. I will really miss her, she has always left the nicest and inspiring comments on my blog as well as being a talented stamper herself. This is a wild card week, so she got to pick any challenge she wanted to. She is asking us to create anything EXCEPT a standard A2 size card. What fun! I love this nestabilitie set from Spellbinders. i wish i could tell you which one it is- I don't know and I couldn't find it. The stamp set is brand new from Mama Elephant's August release- Carnival Cupcakes and Carnival Toppers. I think my husband is gonna love this card for his birthday.

I rarely am able to combine challenges, but this week at Just Add Ink their photo challenge is a rainbow of colors and I thought my cupcake fits right in.

Now here are some pics from the crazy crafting weekend:

Jude- whom is dubbed the "Angel" because she is just so darn nice- unlike me! :) Her plan was to watercolor all weekend and that's what she did.

Bevy B. my "it's 5:00 somewhere" partner spent the weekend making up ink swatch cards. Needless to say she brought up just about all the inks she owns!

Patricia, my bestie and co-pilot did a bit of this and a bit of that. Her CAS style was an inspiration to me over the weekend.

I was pretty tired on Saturday and took a wee nap. when I awoke my buddies had this set up at my place with two cards they made for me to celebrate my graduation! The sign "This is my happy place" is on my wall in my studio at home that I brought it up to the Poconos.

Here's my spot working on some challenge. I know its still morning because there is a hot cup of tea at my spot.

Hope you enjoyed my recap, but more importantly please show your support for Marisa's last challenge and play along at Just Us Girls!
