Sunny wishes

We have been in some hot hazy days in south eastern Pennsylvania, but it's nothing compared to the northwest. Record highs, the sun is making it's presence known.

Which is a nice lead in to our new challenge at CAS on Friday. Our theme is :

SUNSHINE

My challenge card uses two stencils, a four window stencil and a sun stencil, to create my quartet of ombred suns.

How about a little musical inspiration?

You have two weeks to get sunny at CAS on Friday!

Lights on!

Today is a reminder that you have one more week to join the fun at Cupcake Inspirations!! We are hosting a cool almost nautical color inspiration. Blue, white, and yellow. Not that any of my cards were the least bit nautical in theme.

Today's card features 2 stamp sets from Mama Elephant- oldies but goodies. "Light's Out" and "My Sunshine" Unfortunately,  they are no longer available at Mama Elephant.

Face the sun

Yippeeeeee! It's Friday and it's sunny!! After a rainy Thursday, a warm sunny day is just what I want. even if I have to work.

Today starts a new challenge at CAS on Friday and the theme is just in time for summer:

SUNSHINE

A perfect challenge to get us ready for those hot hazy days of summer.

The sun is from a VERY VERY old wooden Hero Arts stamp. It is among the first stamps that I bought. The saying is from Mama Elephant- "My Sunshine".

Be sure to get out in feel the sunshine on you faceand have it inspire you to make a  CAS card. Be sure to share it with us at  CAS on Friday . You have two weeks to play along. Please make sure your card is CAS (see the rules if you are not sure) or you will not be considered for the top prize or a top three spot.

Our winner will be the guest designer for the next challenge at CAS on Friday!!

Sunny days

I have been stuck on a theme lately and it involves clouds, the sun and anything that relates to them. Bare with me, you may not have seen the end to this theme. I will at least try to shake it up a bit each time.

Soooooo, today's card is based on the new challenge at The Male Room. We are asking you to add a tag to your project. I love tags. I have a HUGE box full of them. My card is loosely based on a card with a tag that Laura Bassen made for the new online card class MASK-erade.

I have a couple of theses sun ray stamps that were so hot (pun intended) last summer. My sunshine is from Mama Elephant and I love this set because it has the best sentiments in it.

The cute little plane is from my new favorite company- Lawn Fawn- Bon Voyage .

ooooooh...... what's peaking out from inside the card?

Now it is your turn to show us how you will use a tag on your best masculine card! Please join us at the Male room!

Hello sunshine

When we were having lunch today, my sweet George commented on how today felt like the summer. I said it looked like summer with the hazy blue sky and bright warm sunshine. It's only early May, it makes me think we are in for a sweltering summer. But after the bitterly cold winter we had here on the  East Coast, I will take it.

CAS(E) this sketch always have the best yet simple sketches. I have to admit they can be a challenge to me with their simplicity. But I used today as my inspiration and created my "hello sunshine" card.

I used Lawn Fawn's  "hello sunshine" set and a variety of cloud dies. I added a coating of glitter to make my sun really appear hot.

Be sure to check out CAS(E) this sketch  for this week's challenge. Bye for now, I am going to grab a book, my chair and head to the back yard to say HELLO SUNSHINE!

Sunny Days

This week's challenge at Just Us Girls is a word challenge. The word is "ribbon". I thought this was a bit tricky. Did it mean using a ribbon stamp? Did it mean a bow made with a ribbon or did it mean actually using ribbon on your card?

I have four shoe boxes of ribbon that I rarely use anymore, so this was a great challenge for me. I pulled out the boxes from under my desk and started sorting through them. I originally planned  a wedding card with some really elegant sheer ribbon, but I came across three rolls of bright orange and yellow ribbons that just warmed me like the summer sun. I had one of those "ah ha" moments and this card came to life in short order. I don't think I need to say anything else, do I?

I hope you will join us this week at Just Us Girls and show us how the word "ribbon"inspires you.

You are my sunshine!

CAS-ual Friday is hosting a very fun challenge that fit right in with a new stamp I recently got. The theme is "summer lovin'".

I used sunburst from Neat and Tangled. The rest just fell into place for this CAS graphic card.

This may be the last challenge I can enter, unfortunately vacation is over and it is back to work. :(

Thanks for stopping by!

You are my sunshine!

I am writing this post well ahead of when it will be posted and we are expecting another major snowstorm. I have to laugh, we have had so much snow this winter that when they talk about snow on the weather now, they describe it as "plowable" snow as opposed to just snow.

I am so ready for spring and sunshine. When the challenge for House of Cards this month was using a button, I immediately went for a sun stamp from Darcie's- My Sunshine. I stamped an ombre of oranges and added the buttons. There you have it a very CAS card to encourage spring to come.

Here is the same card made even more CAS and one layer. Which do you like the best?

Now, here is the question. Should you always add a string to the the button? I have been informed by others that buttons should never appear "au natural". What do you think? Ties or no ties?

Please join us for another great challenge at House of Cards!
