You are my sunshine!

I am writing this post well ahead of when it will be posted and we are expecting another major snowstorm. I have to laugh, we have had so much snow this winter that when they talk about snow on the weather now, they describe it as "plowable" snow as opposed to just snow.

I am so ready for spring and sunshine. When the challenge for House of Cards this month was using a button, I immediately went for a sun stamp from Darcie's- My Sunshine. I stamped an ombre of oranges and added the buttons. There you have it a very CAS card to encourage spring to come.

Here is the same card made even more CAS and one layer. Which do you like the best?

Now, here is the question. Should you always add a string to the the button? I have been informed by others that buttons should never appear "au natural". What do you think? Ties or no ties?

Please join us for another great challenge at House of Cards!

Believe in the Magic

Woooohooooo.... a color challenge with colors that I just LOVE! I could have done any number of cards using this combo, nested blues. I love making blue and brown holiday cards.

In keeping with the theme of eggs, I chose my Hero Arts stamp Merriest Christmas Wishes that features a cute little bird and paired it with  saying from Paper Smooches. I didn't have any turquoise embossing powder so I just went over the saying with a copic marker to tint it a bit.

Please play along with Just Us Girls and show us your best use of the nested blues!

Dreaming of Mittens

How many of you are like me and dream about cards and their creation? I dreamed this card last night. needless to say, I had to go right into my studio to make it, before I forgot the idea.

I thought about some nontraditional colors, but decided I really wanted to stick with the obvious. I love how the mittens dangle from holiday.

I stamped the 6x6 background Nordic Stripes from Impression Obsession with distress ink, mown lawn. I die cut the holiday from the Wonderful Word set from Papertreyink. I stamped the mittens from StampinUp's make a mitten set with mown lawn and distress ink, festive berries. The stamp set has a matching punch to the mittens. The rest I think you crafty stampers can figure out. If you have any questions please let me know.

The holiday crafting season starts for real November 1, so I will be very busy over the next few months.
