For many years, I worked as a designer in the infant and children fashion industry. I specialized in producing “cute things” and have a lot of experience designing prints and patterns. I realized that I could apply my knowledge to graphic design and illustration and share my creations with others. In the spring of 2011, I opened Pixel Paper Prints and have greatly enjoyed the Etsy experience!

I absolutely love crafts! Everything I design is done while thinking about people similar to me...those who like to create, experiment, and transform. :)

My hope is that you find graphics that make you smile and inspire you to create.

Friendship stars

Welcome to a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. This will sadly be the last challenge for me with the C.I. team. Life moves on and things change. But what a great run it has been. The Cupcake Inspirations team have been a great group of gals to work with.  Hopefully I will have time to pay along here and there in the future.

I am going out with a bang. My last challenge is a very girly color challenge using purple, lavender and pink. A shout out to all our princesses to join in!

We have a very special sponsor also:

Star!

My husband and I are not big sports people, occasionally baseball or maybe football if the Eagles are in the playoffs. But who can resist a cute teddy on top of a soccer ball. I am sure my husband wont be able to since he loves a good teddy card!

Today starts a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. The theme is SPORTS.

Today's card features "Star" from Penny Black and "Stop, Drop, Party" by Simon Says Stamp- a go to sentiment stamp set these days.

You have two weeks to share your sporty theme creation with us at Cupcake Inspirations! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

House of Cards Challenge

Enamel dots, where did they come from and how did they become so popular? I like them because they are flatter then pearls or gems. Makes the card less bulky for mailing.

There are so many companies selling this fun embellishments, but as you will see over the next four weeks at the House of Cards, there are many ways to make your own.

I tried to think outside the box for my card. I used my enamel dots as stars and planets in the anniversary card that I made for George. He loves all things astronomy and space. I think he will love this card- even if it doesn't feature a teddy bear!

The star banner is from Papertrey Ink, the space ship is an old Amuse stamp (remember when they weren't a Stampin Up wanna be) and Lawn Fawn rounds out the card with the sentiment from their Lucky Stars set.

Be sure to check back each week at the House of Cards to see how the teams were inspired by enamel dots and to see the videos on how to make your own!

Abracadabra- it is a twofer!

Well, how about a twofer!! I am all about finding the most uses out of one stamp, die etc. Remember this post from Memory Box? When I received the Cosenza tree border die # 98855, I knew how else I could use it. But first things first.

I made a set of hello cards each color featuring a different season with the cosenza tree border die cut from various MB papers. I die cut cosenza tree border outline # 98864 from brown card stock. I added a matching strip of washi tape and using the new urban alphabet dies to add the hello. Please check out this post to see the cards individually.

NOW FOR THE MAGIC!! ABRACADABRA! Just say the magic words- Memory Box!

IMG_9503

Do you see the magic? Do see the twofer? All those left over pieces from the cosenza tree border, minus their trunks made perfect little balloons!! How fun is that!! A subtle sponging of starry nights stencil and this bonus card was complete.

There is relatively new challenge site out the in blog land called The Card Concept, it is similar to the House of Cards that I design for. Since my resolution this year was to try and participate in more challenges, I thought the Card Concept would be a fun one to try!!

The challenge for this week is birthday cards. I am entering this as a CAS card- main focal point lots of white space, very easy to recreate.

Lucky Stars!

So I have a free day to play, a new class starts tomorrow so there isn't much to do but read. I love the challenges at Fusion- you can either pick the sketch or the photo inspiration or combine them. I have tried really hard to be a Fusion Master, but the closest I have come is honorable mention.

But like they say about the lottery, you can't win if you don't play! So here is this weeks entry- it is a fusion card.
I haven't entered a challenge recently and was feeling a bit uncreative, but after many attempts and my work space getting smaller and smaller- I am sure you know all about that huh? I came up with this card.

I have been using the Watercolor wonder set from Papertrey Ink, that I borrowed from my girlfriend- she may not get it back! : ) The only thing about this card that is disappointing is the white inking. You can't really see it, except as the resist. This time I used Memories unicorn white, but I have tried about 4 others and none work well.

What white inks do you use that you like? I sure would like to hear.

Have you checked out my announcement yet? Check out either of these sites-House of Cards or my blog.

Well I better go clean up my workspace or i won't have any room to create!

Stars

Making male cards is always a bit difficult for me, especially since my husband loves cards like cards with cute teddies and other animals, which most men don't like. I needed to make a card for my director of endoscopy. We are having a birthday party for him tomorrow and among other things, I was elected to make the cards. I chose a star theme. The above card is from me, but the card below is from his team. the inside says " happy birthday from your stars!" There is a start for each person on the team.

I apologize for not keeping up on my blogging recently, I was at a conference last weekend and and then back to work and school. Today is the first day to myself. Stay tune for the next installment in the Tag Your It series. I just got the most amazing card from Jules yesterday.

Until then stay creative!!
