Monster Mash

My husband and boss are rockers, guitarists, and total music lovers. I have been collecting lots of music related stamps and this set from Your Next Stamp is one of my go to sets.

I decided to spend some early morning time in my studio before the 94 degree heat set in and play along at AAA Cards, AAA Birthday and Addicted to CAS

This card involved a bit of masking. Now this is something that normally I never do. It just seems like to much work. But I will tell you it was so worth it.

Head over to AAA Cards, AAA Birthday, and Addicted to CAS and play along too.

Go Green!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone. As you all know, everyone is Irish today!!  It is one of my fav holiday's because it features my most favorite color in the world- GREEN!! I just love green.

It is also special since my guy is Irish- at least half Irish. That counnts right?

St. Patrick's Day stamps are hard to find, I pick them up when ever I come across them. For awhile the only ones I could finsdwould be in the bargain bins of those big box craft stores. And that was before the MISTI so they never stamped right.

Today I have a tidy collection of  St. Patrick's Day stamps.

My card today features an adorable set from Pretty Pink Posh and the saying is from Impression Obsession.  For the sponging of the green I used my new brushes from Picket Fences. They are truly amazing and yes.... life changing.

I am entering the challenge at Addicted to CAS, because... well....the code word is green!!!

Hope you all have a magical St. Patrick's Day!! Top of the day to all of you!!

It's a boy!

Babies are being born right and left at work. I guess that is what happens when your staff s young and newly married. I have been making quite a few baby cards with the few baby stamps I have.

Addicted to CAS is having a baby challenge this week, so I thought I would play along.

This card was for one of my male nurses and his wife on the birth of their son. There is just some thing about gingham that says baby.

I would tell you the stamps but they are all a million years old.

Head on over to Addicted to CAS and pull out your baby stamps and play along!!

Colorful crafty friends!!

Is there anything better than crafty friends? I have a core group of crafty peeps. We try to get together to craft a few times a year. We always have a crafting weekend in the Pocono mountains in Pennsylvania each summer.

I arrive a day ahead with my buddy Pat and we get the house ready for the rest of the crew. We spend the weekend crafting. There is usually a card swap, a class and everyone contributes a stamping tip through out the weekend. There is stamping going on at 6 in the morning until midnight.

We only stop for sustenance and a trip to get ice cream cones.

The weekend is always a blast. Good food, great music, awesome art, good times and crafty best friends!!

I always send a card out to the group a week before the weekend to pump everyone up. I think this will be the card that goes out.

I found a very old wooden stamp from Invoke Arts, back when I was dabbling in artsy fartsy stamping. When I saw the "rainbow" challenge at Addicted to CAS, the idea of how to show this very old stamp some ink and love came to me.

And hey isn't Less or More have a challenge with the theme of friendship going on for just a few more hours!! I am getting this entry in just under the wire.

All I can say is if you read this in time, head on over to either sites, see what others have created and join in the fun!!

The sky's the limit

This is the time year where graduations abound. My BFF told me she was going to her granddaughter's graduation from preschool. Preschool!!!! I then found out there are graduations not only from preschool but kindergarten, elementary school, middle school. Geez, you can tell I don't have kids! 😀 Well if all these graduations are going on, you are going to need a bunch of congrats cards. I figured I better get a stock in.

CAS(E) this Sketch and Addicted to CAS both had a challenged that when I saw it, I knew exactly what I was going to do. Sometimes it happens like that. You just grab your stamps and 20 minutes later you have your creation done.

Die cuts seem to be a buzz word this week. Both The Male Room and Just Us Girls are looking for us to use them in our work.

I used Lawn Fawn's Blue Skies. I sponged the blue sky background and added the clouds and hot air balloon, all colored with copics.  Die cut them. (what would we do without dies?!!) The sentiment and gems were added and voila- the card was done.

These are some really fun challenges. Click on my links and play along too.

Pinkalicious

School started last night, but I am still going to keep crafting. I don't thinkthis class will be quite as challenging as my last.

I created today's card for the challenge at Addicted to CAS. They want you to use pink! Well that is a no brainer. My Mom's favorite color was pink. She loved it so much that my brothers and I knew she had to be buried in a pink coffin!!! Who knew there was such a thing!

Anyway I digress. Not only did my mom love pink, but my crafting buddy Margarita says all the time- "Pink is the most beautiful color in the world!!". This card is for her, especiallty since she has a birthday coming up next week.

The flamingo and sentiments are from a no longer available set from Reverse Confetti. Are flamingos no longer popular? I seem to be a day late and a dollar short with these stamping trends!! 😀

I used a new Tim Holtz stencil for the background. It seems to be my go to stencil lately.

I even finished the inside of the card. I liked this card so much I made it in turquoise and might it in yellow.

There is only one day left for this pink challenge at Addicted to CAS, if you have time check it out!!

Cool Chick

Gosh- I know it has been awhile since I have blogged, but I didn't think I would forget how to use blogger! I had the worst time trying to upload my photos from iphoto. Anyone having problems with that?

Anyway, I figured out a workaround. Grad school has been incredibly stressful and time consuming. This past week was the first time I have had to really sit down and stamp.

Today's card fits the bill for a few challenges. These were supposed to be Easter cards, but since I didn't get to stamp until after Easter, they are spring cards!! 😀

I used this super cute stamp set from Simon Says Stamp- Some Bunny. The background was done using this fun stencil from Timmy and a rainbow of distress inks.

This card just makes me splashing in puddles, dancing in moonlight, spinning under the sun kinda happy!

I am entering it in a few challenges:

Use a Stencil

I have a few weeks off until I am back at school, so hopefully you may see me again soon. Until then check out these great challenges!

Bootastic

I am so happy my mojo is back. You can't get me out of my studio! Today's card was inspired by two challenges. Addicted to CAS has "monster" of a theme and Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers (a new challenge for me) ask us to watercolor!

My watercolor panel was created with Ken Oliver's colorbursts.  The purple is the best purple in watercolors I have ever seen! I created several of these cards using this stamp set from Mama Elephant. The grave yard background was from this Newton's Nook stamp set.

Of all the "weeners" in the "Bootastic" stamp set, the mummy monster is my fav.

I have been trying to stamp the inside of my cards as I make them. I usually leave them blank and then I am at the eleventh hour quickly stamping a sentiment on the inside.

I took the time and stamp a fun "inside"

So beware, it's mischief night tonight! Just stay in and stamp!
